Food for thought,

Thanks for replying about the tank heaters and the refrigerator. As you can see there's a lot of people engaged and it's always nice to hear more about what's happening.

It certainly does look like the charge on shore power made a big difference. It's still dropping, especially that 7% decrease overnight between Sunday the 3rd and today the 4th, but you're in much better territory.

Do you think the battery will hold up until you head out of there?

Do you think you can talk the hosts into letting you charge again?

Tough thing to figure out. Either your solar charging isn't fully operational, and/or there's still a mysterious load drawing them down.

Has it been cloudy there? It looks like it might have been rainy and windy the 29th and 30th and a fair amount since too.

The batteries seem to react poorly to the small, short loads you have applied, so I remain concerned about the batteries condition, which takes us back in a big circle to what might have caused any damage.

I am not sure if the factory charger unit (when plugged into shore power) will desulfate the OP's camper batteries will as well as a small $50 charger will. Will it?

the older WFCO units certainly did not do any sort of 'smart charging'.

It might be pretty cost effective for the OP to invest in a "smart charger" to get more years out of his Trogan battery investment. My buddy has a pair of those T105s and has gone about 7 years on his and they still work well. They are kind of "old school" with lots of lead in them are pretty heavy to move. Pretty dependable though.

The WFCO in our 5.0 decided to charge our AGM's at 20.37 volts, ruining them at the beginning of our second winter in Arizona. That certainly wasn't "smart".

Since we had 170 watts of solar on the roof and a 100 watt portable, I just pulled the fuses on our WFCO and for the next three years only needed solar to keep our batteries charged. We don't have a 120v charger installed for our Bigfoot either, but now with Terry's need for a CPAP I removed the 160 watt panel and installed 600 watts on the roof.

Food for thought,

Perry

I would have also switched off the converter's breaker, on my E21, its the 2nd from the top.
