Battery box bolts

Just back from a trip in the northern Vancouver Island bush during which one of the battery connectors corroded off. I did a 'field fix' and a better fix once home (and greased the terminals this time), but noticed the bolts that hold the battery box were also very corroded (see photo), so replaced them with stainless steel carriage bolts. I post this as a heads-up to those who might be as neglectful as I am about battery maintenance and don't want to see a battery fly off the back at a bad time. I replaced one battery terminal last year, but didn't take the obvious corrosion seriously enough.

Our 17'er has had four camping seasons, logging about 12,000 kilometres, mostly Vancouver Island recreation sites and a couple of longer trips through the Rockies and then the Cariboo.
