Do I have a battery problem?
I just went out to to the trailer to do more unloading after arriving back from nearly three months away. The carbon monoxide alarm was going off, had not been on long since it was only about 40 minutes since last in the trailer. The battery monitor showed weak. We arrived home late Monday night and I just had not yet plugged it in. So I did so just now the alarm stopped and now the monitor shows battery fully charged. The monitor is just the standard one Escape used in 2007. Other than the CM alarm nothing else has been turned on in the trailer since Monday night.
Do I have a problem? I have only gone off grid overnights driving to TX and with our,LED lights there was no drop from full charge those nights.

Are you talking about the propane gas alarm? It is supposed to be cleaned weekly and supposed to be replaced after five years. Some fail even earlier.
It's on my "to do" list.

plug into a 12v outlet a digital meter and then turn off the converter and check your voltage, while plugged into electric it will show 100%, you need to unplug from electric, let the system rest for 5-10 minutes and then plug in a battery meter. The age of your system is unknown, correct?

Yes Glenn, the propane alarm. I have not cleaned that alarm but assumed it was going off because off the supposed weak battery. I just wondered how the battery could drop so quickly after not being attached to the grid since Monday morning (then should have been kept charged all day while attached to the truck). Or was it really discharged that much since the battery monitor immediately went to fully charged when I plugged in this morning.

Jim I am pretty sure Alf put in a new battery two or three years ago. Thanks for the suggestions,

If the alarm hasn't been replaced, that may be the reason it is going off.
Don't bother contacting MTI Industries, the maker. I've sent email twice to their contact address and had no response. I think they see my Canadian address and ignore.
I intend to look up an alternative product.

The propane alarm has a born on date or a replace date. It does not matter what the date is because they can fail before expiration. The date just gives you some perspective. On my Escape 19 I had to remove the mounting screws and the unit to see the date.
I only found replacements of the same color on eBay. Not that color matters. An easy replacement as it uses crimp on connectors.
