Dometic RM 2354 circuit boards?

The 2007 Dometic RM 2354 blanked out…no lights on the control panel, buttons don’t do anything. All fuses, including ones on the lower printed circuit board are ok. There is power at the input terminals on the lower pcb, both 110v and 12v. Message cable between controls on the fridge and the lower pcb seem ok. I suspect one of the printed circuit boards has failed because I don’t know where else to look.
Does anyone have experience replacing the boards when the on/off and other buttons are not responsive and the lights don’t illuminate on the fridge controls?
Replacement kit including both boards, with new igniter available for about $180 seems like a worthwhile gamble against complete fridge replacement. Experiences and ideas welcome.

I have the same model 2354 and the on-off switch gave out. I replaced the eyebrow control board. It is an easy fix—remove 2 screws to access the board, remove and replace the board, clip the harness to the new board and reinstall. I expect the main board to be similarly straight forward if you label the harnesses as you unplug them.

Given the age of your trailer I wouldn’t hesitate to spend $180 for a new set of boards. It’s what I will do if any more electrical issues occur such as you described.

Following up, new upper and lower circuit boards from PDXRV in Portland solved the problem. Nice to get both boards that are designed to work together, easy install and satiflying result.

Glad it worked out for you Dave. I have the same RM 2354 Dometic Fridge that suddenly stopped working awhile back. I got my two replacement panels as a set from a local mom and pop Dometic dealer. This was after being sent the wrong main panel from Dinosaur. They neglected to say my model fridge required a set, both the eyebrow and the main control panel, which they didn't sell. Anyway, I'm glad you were successful with your source. It's basically plug and play, but not being experienced with this I struggled a bit getting things on and off. Fridge is working now. Hope it stays that way. -Tom

Was the lower control board a direct replacement or did you have to make any modifications to the igniter or other wiring?

Spend the money and try to get the old one working. The newer Dometic stuff doesn't seem to be that reliable.

Direct replacement. On mine, at least, no change to igniter or wiring. Careful to mark and photos of all wires before disconnecting made installation easier.
