Egress Vent Replacement 5.0TA

Our 2015 5.0TA has a 14"X21" egress vent above the bed area. Hand crank activation. The plastic vent has two cracks in perimeter area, and while it appears still water tight, I wish to replace before it becomes a real issue. However, I have been searching for suppliers of RV replacement parts and find little more than 14.5' X 14.5" sized vents. Has anyone else had to replace the vent? Who was the supplier of the part? I have been in contact with after sales support at Escape and am still waiting for support. Thanks, George

The correct manufacturer and part number is Heng’s 90007-C1. You may be able to get it from etrailer or Amazon. When replacing, do not try to install the gasket in the lid before it is assembled and installed in the opening. Install the gasket by kneeling on the bed and cranking down the lid. It makes it much easier to position it properly. If you do a search on the forum this has been addressed, as well as a method to reinforce the weakest spot on the front leading edge.

There are lots of results for retailers if you do a search for the part number C&G in FL gave above.

Reading threads on the forum for the replacement technique is also useful.

I didn't like that my escape hatch yellowed so quickly so, like others here, when I replaced it I also painted it with white Krylon plastics paint. The paint still allows light to come through albeit maybe not quite as much.

To help mitigate the effects of UV on all plastic parts I began using another product recommended by some ppl on the forum: 303 Aerospace Protectant. It needs to be reapplied periodically.

I think this is the vent.

But like stated above your best bet is to call ETI parts department they may be able to give you manufacture and model number. Your trailer being 7-8 years old they may not.

Not based on the part # given by C&G. This should be the vent and there is also a listing of other Heng’s vents and their sizes.
