Eureka! Trash Can for 21C

We have been looking for a trash can that would fit at the end of the bed of our 21C. Granted there are many smaller cans that will fit, but we wanted something bigger than a 3 gallon basket and also wanted a lid.

While shopping in Ikea yesterday, we found one that appeared to have the correct dimensions and it does. It actually has a foot pedal to open the top, but it's not accessible if you place it where we have ours. The good news is the pedal mechanism does not get in the way at all. The lid is very sturdy and under the lid is a separate built-in bag ring to lock the bag in place.

I checked and the lid will open either way, but we will probably have the hinge by the bed so we don't put any wear marks on the cabinet wall. I don't know if you can order from Ikea on-line, but I've attached a pic of the product label.

I just ordered this on line for my 21C...Thank You! I was so tired of my garbage can that was full after a couple paper plates.

WE have a very similar one but the foot pedal does face out.

It is a good location, central and much more capacity than one mounted on the interior of a cabinet door. It's also an unused space and doesn't take away space from anything else.
