front window

Has anyone been able to replace the front window with a thermal one?

Not that I know. I used a little contact cement and a tight fit on some Reflectix inside the rock guard, and since it doesn’t open, 3M window film on the frame inside. Not perfect, but better.

I think that I did the next best thing, maybe even equivalent to a double glazed window.

First of all, I have a front window because I like to be able to look outside at night without going outside so covering the window with reflectix etc. doesn't work for me.

I made a frame that fits over the window frame, snug fit. Then I attached some lexan to it. Since, in a 21C, your warm breath is right under the window, and can cause condensation when the window is cold, it's nice to cut that almost to zero. Actually the side window is double glazed and the front window doesn't have any more condensation than it does. And it's very minor.

Simple mod but big improvement.

The Lexan is a great idea. Thanks
