Loose wire
I was underneath our Last Best Escape 19' draining the old water, getting ready to refill for a boon-docking trip tomorrow. I noticed a length of wire laying on top of the water tank with the cut end connected to nothing. Ours is a 2018 Escape, FYI. My first reaction was the wire had loosened from the water level sensors. Or served as a ground somewhere.
But, I found no terminals where to connect the wire. When I tugged gently on it, the other end came easily with no resistance from underneath the foam near the filler tube. That now-visible end was stripped with half an inch of exposed wire. The wire is about 8" long.
The first pic is where I found it. The second pic is the length of wire itself. Everything is functioning normally, including the sensors. Nothing seems to be amiss.
Any ideas? Was it just left there? I never noticed it before.
