max fan problems
My Escape 17B is now 3 years old. Last year, the Max Fan began to act up. Sometimes it would start, sometimes it wouldn't. Sometimes it would start but then could not be stopped. On several occasions I had to disconnect the power to get it to stop. So this past July, I had a new fan installed at the factory in Chilliwack. On my trip to the Okanagon, immediately after the installation, the new fan suddenly stopped working altogether. I phoned the factory in Florida and they sent me a new printed circuit board which I installed myself. I noticed when I was disassembling the old PCB that the ribbon which connects to the command buttons was pinched underneath the PCB. I had noticed this on the previous fan as well. I followed the instructions from the factory for the installation of the new PCB, but I curved the connecting ribbon in the opposite direction which gave it a better "curve" and less chance of being pinched as I screwed the new PCB back into place. So far, the fan is working perfectly, so I'm not sure if the pinched ribbon from the Command Buttons was the cause of the problem to begin with.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience, and if they noticed the same "pinching problem" that I noticed.
