That is the exact procedure that we follow in both our trailers and the outcome is the same
“ Water on the sink cover and countertop “
We only turn the power on to our pump when we are using our onboard water system otherwise the power to our pump is off

Reading about drips and floods on the counter top and sink cover makes me glad I don't use the sink cover at all. If the faucet drips in my trailer, it drips in the sink. Easy/peasy.

Would be even safer if you had no sink cover, no sink or faucet. No drips.

Yup always turn off pump if not using and still had drips . Removed the sink top and replaced with this . Don't know what it is called , found on Amazon . They have different sizes . Can put hot pots on and increases counter in our little trailer . I routered out and cut out thecutting board for it . But you can get them to just go across your sink .Pat

That's beautiful woodwork, Pat! I have the "insert" part and it is sure handy as an extra counter--the info with mine says you can put a hot pan on it as well (heat resistant to 400) . I usually do dishes once a day, and outside if the weather is nice, so it pretty much stays in place. The rack that came with it is used in the house for lids.

water faucet

Many years ago a friend and I went skiing in the Tahoe area in our class C for 2 days.
After the second day we headed down hill for home, at a lower altitude and warmer we heard a noise in the back, it was the faucet running water as it thawed out as someone didn't shut it off when it was frozen, fortunately most of the water went into the sink.
The reason we were on this trip, other than skiing, was to look at a house in Auburn, Ca. Naturally the house was nothing like we wanted but my friend liked it and bought it. His widow still lives there.

I like the look of the "J" but the control lever, standing up when closed and moving down to open, reminds of the one we had on a Class C delivery that we did.

Probably the only time in our lives that we didn't turn off the water pump. At the end of the day we were stunned to discover we had an empty water tank. The control handle was silky smooth to operate. So much so that it had vibrated down and open.

I probably wouldn't let that experience stop me from getting the "J" style and it'd probably be a good reminder to make sure that the water pump is off.

We never travel with the sink cover installed, therefore have never had a problem. But I do like the new J faucet, might have another spring trailer project.

Pat that’s also a great looking sink cover, I might just have to make one for the cool factor [emoji41].

Quick fix for travel tap drip is put a piece of paper towel in a ziplock bag ......zip it tight into a position to not slide off........

Pretty close to the one Rbryan4 upgraded to a year or 2 ago, if I remember right, it's a direct replacement for those of us with 2 handles.

That is the exact faucet. I followed his lead and it’s working well.
