Unless things have changed since 2014, I'd not say they are high grade, more of a mid grade. Keep in mind that weight matters in a small RV. I eventually replaced the drawer boxes and door latches on mine, just cause I could.

If your looking for Steinway piano quality then no
They are serviceable for their intended purpose and on par with most trailer cabinets
So far our only repairs have been to one drawer which was easily fixed with some dowels and wood glue

The ones in my 2011 15A went through 3 owners over 9 years and were fine, and as far as I can tell so far the 2020 17b are about the same. Nothing has popped open on the road, everything still looks good.

IMO the hinges, drawer slides, cabinet catches, and bathroom door latch are all pretty low end and a bit disappointing given the price of the trailer. Same for the bathroom sink, faucet and medicine cabinet. As mentioned above though, they are serviceable and we haven’t had any problems. On the other hand, a big positive is there is no particle board that I have seen in our 2017, even the counter top and table are made with plywood.

We have taken our trailer on a few trips that included quite a bit of rough dirt road. Measures had to be taken to prevent cabinet doors from opening, but otherwise everything has been solid so far.

One catch failure in 7 years of Escaping. The shower door mechanism. The same one that’s on many many RVs. Less than $10 at any RV dealer. Two screws to change out.
Hundreds of nights of camping
Tens of Thousands of towing miles
Very Minor.
No complaints.
No disappointments.

As others have mentioned, the hardware is of fair to middling quality. If you're expecting euro style hidden hinges, and soft close mechanisms, you'll be disappointed. The construction of the cabinets is very good--they appear to be either solid wood or plywood throughout.

If by high quality you mean serviceable to the job at hand I'd say yes. The quality is high enough that I have never given them a thought, neither their appearance nor functionality.

You are my hero.

Agreed, no complaints about the cabinets and agreed on must be light weight. So throw that in the mix.

I hope to match these stats some day!

I see comments about the price frequently and can't really understand it. I know everyone has their own opinion but mine is that the price is fair compared to stick built trailers. Sure I'd love it to be cheaper but they do cost to build and they are in it for a profit. For a trailer with so few problems and a remarkable resale value I just can't complain.

Wish the bathroom tap was not plastic. It may not break but just does not look quality to me.

Actually, I wish it were just a little bit more expensive...

My feeling is that if I'm paying an extra $10K-$15K for the quality in the body and structure, it really annoys me when they don't put an extra $1K into all the little fiddly bits that break easily...

Cheap hinges, crappy plastic fixtures, etc... I feel the quality of the fixtures does not match the quality of the body.

Where do you stop? If you want the best fixtures/hardware buy an Oliver.

We've driven 27,000 miles down the road and camped over 330 nights. Our kitchen sink faucet failed, and both axles have been replaced, but I'm still happy we didn't buy that used Oliver we had a chance to own.

Enjoy,

Perry

Hi: Dwainkitchens... Rough roads have claimed their share of problems with our 5.0TA... but I'm convinced that any other trailer would have been worse for the wear. An RV is an "Earth quake" on wheels. Alf
