Never knew the side vent wasn't a Dometic part. Wonder if that was known when Dometic agreed to replace the RML with an RMD. Makes sense there is the potential for reduced airflow and thus more heat to be present behind the refrigerator.

Eddie- have you traveled yet with the mod and noticed the kind of performance improvement you saw when stationary?
