Stress Cracks New Trailer

Fellow members, I have new 2023 21C picked up in June. I under the trailer to adjust the brakes when I discovered it had self adjusting brakes. I thought I would look around while there an found a series of fine hairline cracks at the driver’s front bottom corner near where the frame is bolted through. There are about 5 is cracks one above the other running horizontally about 4 inches long and a half inch apart. I will try to add a photo.
I’m contacting the forum before I I contact Escape because I don’t wish to be a nuisance.
I’ve already had to have a new sink sent and installed as the original was installed with a cracked flange, an new circuit board I replaced as the Max can never worked and yesterday I came and sent photos of one tire showing uneven wear with the other tires looking brand new after 5000 miles of towing. That issue I will address elsewhere.

I know cracks can occur but being brand new how can they be repaired other than cosmeticly.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

PS. I thought I edited my profile to reflect the new trailer. will try again.
If you are a member of the Escape travel trailers Facebook page do a search by stress cracks and you will find some threads. Escape has paid to have the majority of them repaired.

I encourage you to not feel like a nuisance to Escape. Being able to fix issues is why they offer a warranty and while Karl's team gave us the run-around, the new management put in place there after he was fired has been very proactive in helping resolve them.

After all, the trailer costs somewhere in the 40K to 50K range, and for that kind of money - and the fact that they have been building them successfully for over a decade - everything should be pretty much right.

Thank you for posting about this. It hadn't occurred to me to check that area, but I will now.

I don’t believe that the cracks are uncommon. I have read several threads here about them.

The in house expert here is BC Ron. He did a seminar at the last rally on this very issue.
Reach out to him.

I had and still have a sizable star crack by the front door on our 2022 21C that I noticed shortly after taking possession on the unit last October.

I called Escape and they told me to get a quote for the repair and if it was reasonable they would pay for the repair. They also sent me a quart of the gelcoat.

I called several people but most seemed like Johnny Joe Fixit Guys and any body shop needed me to bring the unit to them and leave it there for a few days to even get a quote. I think they really didn't want the work.

After watching several videos on gelcoat repair I figured I could do the job as good or better than any Johnny Joe Fixit Guy. I have not yet repaired the spider crack BUT I did put a big 18" long gouge/scratch on our baby and repaired it myself. The result turned out pretty darn good.

So Escape said they would pay for the repair and sent me the matching gelcoat.
