Here you go. Note the frame around the detector to cover the existing larger vertical cutout. We used a scrape piece from a previous mod, but any thin (1/8"-1/4") material would work.

John,

If yours is like the one in our trailer, it is a simple CO/smoke battery operated detector. Twist it off of the mount, remove the mount and get a new one at Lowes or HD. No wiring required.
