I’ve brought peanuts across several times and never thought to declare them and have never been asked. Most prevalent question is firewood, second alcohol. Answers: No sir and 750 ml of American Bourbon and 24 12 ounce bottles of American Beer. Said the border guard with a sense of humor, “no real alcohol then, eh? But I do not know the exact answer to your question, sorry. I do have the free tarp packed and a few items that are surplus to me. We will be arriving Wednesday about beer thirty.

My wife and I are dreaming about getting an Escape 17B, probably next year, but we’ve never seen one in person. Any idea how many Escapes will be at the Niagara rally next week, and if there’ll be any 17B’s? We’re thinking about visiting Saturday morning to meet people and see the trailers.

Hi: Roger3146... I don't know how many Escapes will be in attendance this year, but I do know of at least one 17B maybe two. There should be at least one of each size there. Last year we saw 11 Escapes out of a total of 47 fiberglass trailers. I remember the good old days, when we were the only one there. Love to have you visit on Saturday. Alf

Be careful about the trailers you tour. You’re liable to come through the gate with 17 on your mind, wander into a 19, 21 or 5.0TA and leave all confused. Once you’re back on the road you will realize you have a mild case of prospective owner 2-4 TA foot itis . You can alleviate symptoms by taking lots of pictures and trying out the beds.

and, to add on, if you purchase one and realize later you want a different model, Escapes are very easily sold and then you can purchase a new different Escape model. Escapes hold their value much more than automobiles and do not forget the exchange rate can impact your final price. I have done it 3 times.....

Hi Alf
Sure, Sure you do. My first trip to a Canadian Rally was to the Wine Escape. A “lady” toured our trailer. She noticed the Bal X Chocks and asked their purpose. I told her they kept the trailer from rocking. Her reply
“What’s the fun in that?” For the first time in 66 years I did not have anything to say.

Thanks for the welcome and advice. I am a little concerned that my wife will drool over the larger Escapes. And I don’t think we’ll try out any beds this time!

Hi: Roger3146... I'll make sure to pack some extra rolls of paper towels to soak up the "Drool". Don't forget how changeable your tow vehicle is. We're on our 3rd. pickup but our second 5th. wheel Escape!!! Alf

Don’t come in our 21 and take your shoes off, that Casper mattress will suck you off your feet and the next thing you know you’ll be takin a nap.
It’ll all be over but the build sheet by this time next Saturday.

Sorry I'm going to miss this year's rally. Hopefully I'll be there in 2020.

Never seen a Casper, just the commercials or Casper the Friendly Ghost and his sidekick Wendy.

Ya take Iowa Dave’s advice! We toured a 19, ordered a 19, and than attended the Niagara rally two weeks later. Made the mistake of letting my wife go in a 21. Had to call ETI 4 days later and change the order.
Play it safe. Tour the 17’s and than make a excuse that you have to leave the CG right away.

C’mon Roger, be a sport and tour our 21. And there will be at least one new 21 there too. Live dangerously I always say. We’re in Fort Wayne tonight, we’ll be in the campground late tomorrow afternoon if all goes as planned. Chicago this afternoon about 2 was a breeze. Only slowed up for about a mile but technically was already in Indiana.

We arrived early this afternoon. We had a great afternoon chat with Alf and Mary Anne, and then dinner at Betty's. Delicious food!!

I got us in the car instead of the RV lane when crossing the Rainbow Bridge border in Niagara Falls. However after a stern warning of jail if I didn't declare any guns, the customs official let us through.
