Having built some new homes and renovated many, I am wondering what you would worry about not working. Should anything fail it is usually immediately and gets corrected on the spot, or you could wait a couple decades.....
Now, if you are wishing to enjoy the new place for a while, I get that.
Me, I am still very busy working on my forever home and will still have lots of stuff to do during Quartzite next year. I've been there twice, and would love to go back again sometime.

As a nearly life long Californian, I am encouraged when I see posts from folks who promise never to come here.

I doubt we want to get into the subject any further on this forum. Nothing good can come of it. I will be up front and say I will never enter California if I have a choice.

Ghost hunter, If you click on User CP at the top of the page you can add California to your ignore list. I have 5 states, 3 provinces, 14 countries, 4 religions, 8 campgrounds, and 2 oceans on my list and I find it gives me peace.

Agree. Navy stationed me in California for 8 of my 20 years. The national parks, forests, etc. are wonderful, and the state parks are just as nice. Our favorite boondocking spot is at 9000 ft. in the White Mountains.
Traffic in CA big cities is just like east coast big cities - terrible.
Look forward to our next trip to CA, NV, AZ in January. Hope our schedule allows for a Quartzite stop.

Can’t say enough good things about our annual trip to California, Oregon and Arizona. Beautiful states, good facilities and nice people.

Hoping the stars line up for us so we can get ET-19 back to San Diego. Planning for late January. But, where to park it?

It's just the new home owner jitters that made me stay here at least one winter. Needed to see how well the mini split heat pump kept up with heating in single digit temps (great). Make sure the heat pump water heater works as advertised (yep). Check that everything comes back on after a power failure (check). See how well the metal roof clears snow after a big snow storm (nope. Problem for this spring to solve). And I've got several items on the trailer to work on. Come Feb I'll be ready to go.

That's why we call it the Granola State. Chock full of fruits, nuts and flakes.

Quatzsite planning - newbie questions
For the RV show week (1/21-1/29), where do folks plan to camp? Has someone volunteered themselves as the planner?
For the fiberglass Quartzsite gathering (2/4-2/11), I have seen the postings on fiberglassrv.com and Casita forums ( https://www.casitaforum.com/invboard...ite-gathering/). I have not been to Quartzsite; Dome Rock appears to be a large area. Is there a particular area that Escape owners camp at Dome Rock?

In years past, when it was an organized event, the host would be ground zero. Some liked to be nearby, because the organized activities tended also to be in that area, and some up on the ridge, but generally within sight of each other but quite spread out.
Not sure how that's going to work now without a host but I'm sure it'll sort of be, oh look at all those Escapes, let's park over there.

I looked at the ignore list and it only gives me the option to block users, not subjects.

Sorry, a feeble attempt at wishful thinking. Correct, you can only block users, it’s up to the moderators to block subjects.
(BTW, the three provinces on my list are Northwest, Nunavut, and Yukon.)

FWIW I live in Norcal and go down that way often, and I never even consider the 5. Put a 3 and a 9 in front of it and the trip is 79 times better in all respects. The 395 is one of the best and most scenic stretches of highway anywhere in the country...and never any traffic!

I also love 395 but there are sections that hit fairly high altitudes that may be a winter problem. I drove over Conway Summit, 8142' outside of Lee Vining in May with overnight temperatures at 22°F and snow on the sides of the road. The same day I hit Death Valley at -236'. The altitude change squashed a number of water bottles!
