Safety, no heat in the trailer, faster cooking.

I feel obligated to amend this post.......my wife loves induction ....and since she is a beautiful, smart woman who has a PhD....PLUS...literally wrote an award winning book on Kitchen and Bath design...(Julia Beamish)......I know she is right about induction........however, I still don't understand any electric cooktop for camping....
Again. however, she is right .....always......most of the time......

Probably why absolutely no restaurant would ever use electric cooktops.....but I always think you should use what you like......

And...restaurant's don't typically use...propane fired refrigerators either. But they use electric powered...fryers.

Apples/oranges and irrelevant arguments/justifications, IMHO, regarding what fuel type one chooses to use to power various appliances in their RV.

I need somebody to come up with a propane powered CPAP and oxygen concentrator.

The newer rigs actually have a CPAP connector by the bed.........guess it runs off house batteries.

Maybe people just wanna see if it can be done?
I'm just not crazy about investing 6k in batteries, inverters, etc.......just to prove a point. We are talking about camping right? I try to make things simple.

I have a DC power source for the CPAP, but the oxygen concentrator requires AC and produces enough heat that I've needed to sleep with the window open. There is no way it would work off batteries.
I'm not happy, but I guess I'm stuck "camping" at RV resorts with full service, or just staying home.

My brother just went on oxygen concentrator and he uses a backpack model.......wonder if you could run it off a small inverter with a window mount to dissipate heat.....please know I have no experience with either device.

The one I have is the size of an wheeled airline bag for a two week vacation. Any details would be appreciated.

Did a Google. Much more to learn.
New portable oxygen concentrators vary in pricing and usually cost between $1495 and $3495 depending on batteries and other accessories.

Ouch....his backpack model was around $2700 usd..........not sure how long power pack lasts....I will ask what he finally bought...again..I am vaguely familiar with this equipment. One thought is they seem to have phone and laptop chargers everywhere....seems that might be an option to replenish power a bit......whilst moving about.

Me I like flexibility. We do camp a lot at campgrounds that have power, ergo use the power source I’m already paying for. If we don’t I have two other methods, outside with a butane powered grill and single burner cooktop, and in the trailer with propane stove. We don’t have an inverter yet, it’s on the list for this year. I’d still not use the cooktop without shore power as I have alternatives.

love induction

maybe we're not all "just camping" - we will be living FULL TIME in our 21C starting January 2nd - and prefer to not feel like we are camping.I love induction cooktops (I have had one in every house we have lived in since 1983 - at that time very rare - and would never use anything else for my primary cooking. Propane outside but induction inside!!! IMHO to each their own but don't knock it until you try it LOL!!!!!!!
