Hot Water Heater Anode Question...

Hello all,

Can anyone comment on how long the HWH anode usually lasts?

Mine is 1 1/2 years old and looking pretty swiss cheesey

I have never used the HWH (we just buy showers at the campgrounds). I'm thinking of putting a bypass in.

Also, a coworker with an airstream says I should get a plastic HWH plug but I was dubious. Anyone have any experience with those?
