We didn't get the name decal but they definitely still do that. Our old trailer, a stick and tin small 5th wheel, was named Brighty after "Brighty of the Grand Canyon". We thought about "Brighty 2" for our 5.0TA but wound up going with "Junior" since it's 2 feet shorter than Brighty.

Wife suggested "9to5Escape". My kid suggested "TSA Free". Whoever would like these.

We hummed and hawed for a while before landing on "Escape Pod". We love the name, but whenever we tell people the name they always associate it with an R-Pod. We do have plans to rip off rbryan4 and include a "Past Tents" bumper sticker on the back of the Escape Pod though!

You can order letters from ETI or from Words Anywhere. (probably other vendors...I have used words anywhere)
My Aframe has had a Past Tents name since 2014 and pre my acquaintance with escape, so I used it again on the 17. I will just have to raise a glass with rbryan if/when we meet.

If a person is reading this that has not joined the forum yet...
I considered finding a name for the trailer that I could also use on this forum and the Fiberglass forum as well.
As my name is Ed, it was almost Edscape instead of Eggscape which I was very surprised had not been used before.

In homage to my German roots, our 19' was "Unser Ei" (Our Egg). This one is "Unser Ei II". Although, we learned from another group, it's technically not an "egg" as "eggs" are called that because of their shape -- and the 21' certainly doesn't look like an "egg". But, then again, do any of the Escapes .....

When I was a youngster working in the service station on US 30 before the Interstate was built “when coke was still cola and a joint a bad place to be” a baby blue hot rod stopped for the light as my dad and I serviced a customers car. Down low, behind the front tire on the bulgy fender, was written “Blue Angel’. My dad was not a fan of chopped up classic car bodies so to tweak him I asked what he thought of naming vehicles. I thought that would get a rise out of the old man. He said he thought it was a pretty good Idea. I was surprised. About six months later, under the influence of a little Christmas cheer, he showed some WWII photos and one was a picture of his Jerry can hauling deuce and a half. Over the fender where the tire pressure was usually lettered were the words “Black Mariah”
He’d named his truck for one of the two slang terms of the day. Either a Paddy Wagon or a Hearse. I didn’t figure that out till much later. Name your camper and make the name mean something to you.
That’s your Iowa Dave story for the day.
Thank a veteran when you can.
Iowa Dave

Best name I ever heard was Pat's (oneOleMan) for his 2015 17B--"Escaping Reality" we would have copied his name, but I believe he passed it on to the new owner when he sold his trailer in 2016. Great name!

Nice story Dave. Thanks for sharing. And yes, I did pick a name that means something to me. http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f7...iler-2774.html

Hey Dave Smith Did you take my name or did I take yours? I’m about 71 1/2 so who had it first?
Donna, I figured you’d like a hot rod story.

Dave:
You're a few years older than I am, (only 68) so you obviously have the older claim. Interestingly, we have a next door neighbor who is also "Dave Smith). A common name!

Trade?
I’ll give you the rights to the name and change mine if I can have the three years? Or don’t it work that way?
Going through life with a real common name has had its interesting ups and downs.

Heh. I've remarked that my trailer is the most Canadian of all the escapes.
It's a 17, eh!

Two guys were assigned the task of naming the country to our north. They had a bag of alphabet blocks and commenced picking blocks out one at a time.
C eh’ N eh’ D’ eh. CANADA
Love my Canadian friends if I have any after that.
