If you live somewhere that allows custom plates on trailers, I think there's a lot to be said for getting a name that fits (even if abbreviated like this) on a plate, and getting the plate assigned before committing to the name on the trailer.
Here in Alberta they are called "personalized" license plates, and although they're rare on trailers, the Service Alberta guide
says they're allowed. I'm not really sure that this guide is entirely correct, because it says they are issued in pairs, and while that makes sense for a motor vehicle (front plates are not required here, but can be used), it's hard to imagine a front plate on a trailer.
