Thanks Got it ordered

Don't know how quickly I'll get to it, but apparently the guy who created the SAM-1 fan kit died and someone is selling off the remaining inventory in Ebay so I grabbed one while there are still some available.

There are few things that irritate me in Ten Forward, but the stove vent fan is one of them . Ebay just got a bunch of my money too. All based on the recommendations of this group
Guess I'd better start re-reading how to install this silent wonder.

Donna Since I started reading this forum my garage has been filled with empty Amazon boxes. This fan conversion is about $80 cheaper on Ebay so Ebay got my money this time. And I don't even have the trailer, yet (six weeks and four days)

Don't worry Donna. Enough of us have done it via trial and error that we've got the bugs worked out. It's relatively easy. The only "hard" part is drilling out the spot welds on the cheap tin box fan to remove it from the hood.

Another

Ordered one! Now just have to find the time before we leave on June 1. My guess is the fan will be installed in July, along with the Victron Battery Monitor we've been carrying around since last February. May is one busy month!

Enjoy,

Perry

Yup, ordered ours yesterday for $99. Made it just in time. That never happens to me!

Enjoy,

Perry

I ordered yesterday at $99 as well ($99+11.59 shipping). Looks like it shipped, but I haven't received any emails from the seller at this time.

Did you need to have the floor reinforced at build to be able to install storage tubes?

OK, OK, you all have convinced/scared me. Just ordered one on EBay (higher price, unfortunately) before they are all gone. Have not even started build sheet yet. I guess if plans go awry I can probably sell it with no problem. I have certainly made larger mistakes in my life.

Wonder if ETI will install it as part of the build?

If you mean additional sewer hose storage tubes under the trailer, no - they just mount underneath with metal straps and are pretty lightweight. An additional sewer tube on our build sheet was $75. On the 5.0TA it looks like it could easily accommodate two additional storage tubes if you wanted them.

If, like me, you didn't request an amber porch light lens and find the clear lens to be blindingly bright, here's an amber replacement lens for $2.99 on Amazon:

Got ours yesterday too!

We're leaving for a month in less than 2 weeks, so the stove fan and top step storage will have to wait.

Enjoy,

Perry

We'll be on the road for a month, three weeks after trailer pick up, and I'm taking every tool I need to install the fan along with RVLOCK, awning lock and other items. I got the fan assembly two days ago. Stuff like expanding the forward storage compartment will have to wait until I get back home. I can't fit the table saw in the back of the truck and I just don't have any space left for the miter.

Just don't get so involved with mods that you forget to enjoy the journey. As is said, you may never pass this way again.

Donna believe me we won't. My brother spent decades in charge of the crews that kept a major manufacturing plant's systems operational. He wound up the assistant plant manager. I am not going to squander the opportunity to use his knowledge and experience. Don't worry though, he no longer lets me take advantage of my big brother status. Those nights when we have nothing else to do we'll get involved with projects.

My plan is working...I can wait until a bunch of others have installed the fan upgrade and then take advantage of all their tips and photos
