I have replaced the suction style basket with a 3MCommand shower basket from Home Depot. It holds 7.5 lbs. and stays attached. The suction basket spent too much time on the floor near the toilet. Tried to sell it a a neighbour's garage sale without success.

I was worried about the suction type staying attached to a wall in a bouncing trailer. The lower one has remained attached for about 5000 miles so far. The upper one I just installed. We'll see. Big fan of command strips. Have the hooks all around the trailer inside and out.

Sometimes you need someplace to hang a wet towel. Here's my simple, out of the way solution. Pre-drill holes into side of the door for the eye hooks. Nothing bad happens when you need to open the cabinet doors to grab stuff.

um, its a Moultrie Game Spy M-990i Gen 2... about 5 years old, and now obsolete. I've had it out there for like 5 years, it does motion capture, day or night, and records to an SD card, which I retrieve (and swap) about once a month to see whats been poking around the back of my property. mostly see deer and squirrels, but have been a number of mountain lions, several bobcats, a few coyotes, and even a fox once or twice.

its mounted on the corner of a fence, about 2 feet off the ground for that dramatic eye level view

I just realized, this coyote has a pretty nasty limp.

Thanks. Been looking to upgrade my REALLY old camera, B & W and still frames only. Have it on a ranch out of Red Bluff, have caught lots of game, a few trepassers, even an elk cow where they ain't supposed to be. Best capture was a brace of mountain lions, quite close to our hunt camp.

I've been told the best trail cameras are Browning. Moultrie makes some OK ones.

For hanging light items we use clothesline hung between the two door handles. I had an old bungee cord that was shot but the rubber coated hooks were fine. Attached rope to the two hooks and hang it up when needed. Works great.

Thanks for the idea. I have several wire baskets and was recently wondering how I could use them when my 17B arrives. A few strong suction cups to secure them, and I could sit them on my bathroom floor.

I've never used Command hooks. Are they easily removed? Do they leave a residue? Would the wall behind need reinforcement? (I chose not to reinforce my walls due to the added weight.)

No reinforcement needed, the Command hooks have a silicone type glue that holds when activated and they release the hold when needed by stretching the adhesive.

I use the strips for other applications also. Instead of putting screws in the wall to mount my Level Mate Pro I used a couple of extra command strips. The wire basket will be suspended by those suction "thingys" I hope. If that doesn't work I'll have to go to Plan B.

Command hooks are wonderful, hold well and are easily removed. They work on the surface of the wall so no reinforcement needed. I recommend getting some of the inexpensive basic hooks (there are some fancier but more expensive ones available also) to take when you first get the trailer. You can experiment with where hook placements work for you - we found that it was impossible to anticipate every detail ahead of time and wound up changing hook locations from what we had planned. The hooks usually even come with extra adhesive pads so you can relocate them if desired. After you've had the trailer a while and are happy with where everything is, you can always replace them with the fancier ones if you want a nicer appearance. Some people have also painted them to blend in with the paneling.

Be sure to follow the instructions for removal. It is possible to damage the surface (particularly the fake oak finished paper plywood used for many of the Escape walls if you just yank the hook off the wall.

I used the white plastic hooks in the bath plus to hang stuff like keys inside the cabinets and the pewter style on the cabinet doors. In the picture you can see where I used the command strips to attach the Level Mate Pro rather than put screws in the walls.

Thanks for posting the video, Jim! Another video featuring creative ways to use different types of command hooks popped up after. Feeling so inspired!
