I'm interested in having the option to have a removeable handle and use a cordless drill to raise and lower the manual jack and found this thread from 2016. Has anyone converted standard Braber Equipment BE-130 jack to be able to use with a cordless drill? Thanks!

Anyone have experience with one of these Lippert jacks? On etrailer at https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Jac.../LC733926.html
Looks like it uses the same nut as the stabilizers.

It's definitely a mod worth doing, not only for tailgate clearance but for use with a drill.
I used the "replace the original handle shaft with a 1/2" bolt" route. It has the 3/4" hex head, same as the stabilizers.
I use my drill, not my impact drill, only for the fast up and down. I don't like to put a heavy load on the gears, same as I do for the stabilizers. Also hate the sound an impact drill makes, not the way to win friends in a campground.

I like it Ron in BC! Looks like just what I need to do for tailgate clearance and to save some $$$'s and pass on the electric jack option. Thanks!

I'm putting the finishing touches on my E19 Build Sheet, and have decided to forego the power tongue jack in favor of the Lippert Quick Drop Tongue Jack - Topwind w/ Drive Nut ( https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Jac.../LC733926.html) and save about $240. l would power this with the same 3/4" socket in my cordless drill as I'd use on the stabilizer jacks. Does any on have experience with this or other drill driven tongue jacks?

Knowing how much torque it takes to crank up my manual tongue jack, I wonder if the typical drill driver has enough pookah. And when your drill driver battery runs down, can you manually crank it?

That jack has a 14” lift. I believe the Standard Lippert electric goes 18”. Raising the coupler/ball to set WDH bars with the standard Lippert was slow and sometimes right at the edge of travel. Guessing that losing 4” of lift won’t be helpful. Also thinking that most drills will be slower than dedicated jack motors.
I replaced the jack on our 21C with a 22” lift Bulldog. When we picked up our E23, I replaced the manual jack I had spec’ed. for another 22” Bulldog.

Ron, a question for you regarding your custom handle… how is the socket fastened to the arm?

I ground the chrome off the top edge and welded it.

I bought one from Trailer Valet and Dave helped me install it. Tried it- worked great except I nearly broke my arm trying to hold the drill while it turned the jack. I'm sure that isn't a problem for everyone but it was for me.

I view the use of a drill as a way to take up the slack fast both for the tongue jack and also the stabilizers. Once the load is on I prefer to hand crank. I hate the sound in a campsite of someone using an impact drill to hammer their stabilizers down. :rolleyes

Just heard one ratcheting this morning many sites away from us. I use a early 90's Craftsman 19.2 volt drill that just stops when it gets resistance and is very quiet. Then I use a wrench to give it a 1/2 - 1 additional turn.
Works for us,
Perry

The drill-driven tongue jack I'm considering is the Lippert Quick Drop Tongue Jack - Topwind w/ Drive Nut from eTrailer at $61.68. When the handle is folded over, it disengages from the drive gear (preventing wild handle gyrations or contact with the tailgate). I promise, I won't create the rata-tat-tat with an impact driver.
