If folks want to keep track of Reace, start a different thread for that. If they want to know about the awning tab, start a different thread for that. If you want to talk about living in different parts of our countries, start a different thread on that. The last two topics have absolutely nothing to do with the busted water hose.

The issue of my busted water hose has been covered and problem has been solved. That was the only reason for my thread. To find out what was wrong and hopefully get it solved. It is. End of thread. Heck, it was deemed by a moderator to shut down the thread I started on the braking issue I was having. That problem was solved, so end of discussion.

PS, I'd probably request it of other threads if I read all of 'em, but I usually stop after they go way off track and never bother reading 'em again. I'm sure I'm not the only one that does that.
Hmm, maybe just stop reading this thread......

Hi: jenny katz... I just looked at a white F 150XLT 4X4 Sport supercab 2.7L tow haul 6 spd. auto w/ 20" alum. rims. Too tall to pull a 5.0TA @ 56" at the rear axle. It'd pull a 21 just fine. Would have been a GOODBYE deal as it is a left over 2016 marked down approx 25%.
Just hafta keep tuggin' with my Nissan Frontier!!!
Oh look there goes another F 150!!! Alf

So many times "best" is very subjective. Best fuel economy has a lot to do with how fast you drive/pull, the terrain you travel in, type of fuel, etc., etc.

Best comfort? Oh my. I really dislike leather seats.. others love them. What's best is what's best for each of us.

Oh look... a Ford F-150... white... and it's MINE

Just raise the trailer up 5" and install an elevator to get in.

What is it that makes it so tall, the Sport package? I have 20" tires on mine, but the overall diameter is the same for all tire sizes.

Hi: Jim Bennett... Maybe it's the HD Shocks? Maybe the Hankook AT's I duh know!!!
The Nissan measures 48" and the F 150 56". I'd have to flip the axles and put a two step spring board at the door. Mod a lot and it'll fit where it touches!!! Besides the interior is very dark... almost black. My reasoning's and I'm sticking with 'em. Alf

That little twist in the steps is clearly made by a GM owner. Must have had to walk all that way out of the alley to get his friend with the F150 to come help.
Edit: I'm surprised that Pat hasn't chimed in here, being an owner of a twenty-something year old F-series that pulls a Escape 19!

Reace visit....

First of all, it was our first time to meet Reace, and he's great! Tammy "done good" when she married that guy! Reace weathered through a deluge of rain from Tropical Storm Cindy driving through Louisiana and Mississippi, but he arrived here (East Central Alabama) this morning. In fairly short order, he: 1) replaced both water lines to the shower, 2) replaced the guide ramps for the awning and made sure all the screws and bolts were secure, 3) re-caulked where the drain pan under the refrigerator meets the side wall and 4) tweaked the lower seal on the refrigerator door. We had a relaxed lunch at a local "meat and three veggie" buffet diner, then he was back on the road. Next stop - central Florida. We would love to have Reace and his family as neighbors if they ever decide to move South.

By the numbers....

For those who might be interested, I believe Reace said that to date, they have build 67 of the 2017 model 21's. Of those, 38 are owned here in the U.S. Ours was right about in the middle of those to be fixed on his trip - I think he said ours was the 20th one he's fixed with 18 more to go. He knows of only two trailers that have actually experienced a ruptured water line (I assume he was referring to Tom and Laura, but I didn't ask). Don't hold me to those numbers, but I think that summarizes what he said during various parts of our conversations while he was here today.

Reace said he had never seen heat like they have in Arizona, mountain passes like they have in Colorado (he came over Monarch Pass, for those familiar), or rain like they have in Louisiana and Mississippi! He could write a book from his experiences on this trip! But still having a great time!

Holy cow! Monarch Pass is US-50, which is a beautiful route, but takes you over 11,000 ft. just south of a bunch of Colorado 14's (mts. over 14,000 ft.). He'll long remember that! He does have an F-150 with a turbo, doesn't he?

Edit: (The time I did it, it was early morning and cool, and I took the air cleaner off the carb. to get as much air as I could. Still went very slowly.)

Reace is driving a 2015 F-150 with the 3.5L EcoBoost. We compared trucks and engines (we have a 2016 with the 5.0L V8 natural aspiration). He loves his, especially the way it continues to deliver high torque at relatively low RPM while going up in thinner air at higher altitudes. He hopes to drive over Wolf Creek Pass next time he's in Colorado - another beautiful drive, but a little more "white knuckle" inducing.

My 2012 XLT 4x4 measures 55" at the axle, it's a might high for the normal height of the trailer but it works. Suspect raising the trailer would be in order for 56".
