Stove vent fan not operating

I've tried a forum search, but did not find anything.

Was out in my rig and tried the stove vent fan. NO GO. Nothing. Checked fuses, all appear OK.

Ideas? I did replace the exterior vent housing this Fall, but was nowhere near any wires, as I recall.

Suggestions? I'll head out there with a VOM to see. Rig was plugged in, battery switch ON.

Our kitchen vent fan would speed up and slow down on its own and the hood light would blink on and off . Traced the problem to a bad splice in the fan
Repaired the splice and no problems since . Easy repair

Found it!

A few weeks back I removed the expanded metal screen/filter and cleaned it.

Today, I removed it to see if any wiring was beneath it and troubleshoot.

I then noticed a microswitch on the housing, next to the screen. Pushing it in, the fan worked.

The Heng's unit I have has this switch to prevent vent fan operation WITHOUT having the screen in place.

Live and learn.

With repositioning the screen, all OK now.

Sounds like an open and shut case to me...
