Campground hosting at Big Bend NP

Big Bend National Park just posted a listing for a campground host position in the Chisos Basin campground. This is the premier spot in Big Bend, a primitive campground but the host site has full hookups. Volunteering as a campground host in a national park is not only a lot of fun, but offers a rare opportunity to have full hookups and stay for an extended period in a remote area. We spent several summers hosting at Glacier NP, and another forum member has hosted at Big Bend. If you're interested, check it out - these openings are rare and don't come up often.

We were walking thru that campground back in Feb. and the hosts were in a big class A r/v. Don't know how they got it into that spot!

It does help to be an experienced mountain driver. Plus the rangers will give you considerable assistance - as in escorts and/or blocking oncoming traffic. With our E'21 it was a breeze.
