I don’t have any interest in that area but if I was still into backpacking I would not worry about camping there save for grizz and mama black bears. That said, live the motto and make sure the snap on your holster isn’t sticky. Bear spray, what else?

This is just legal mumble jumble. If you’re 50 miles from nowhere all the laws on the books mean nothing and even if you have cell service the only good that will do is maybe let someone know where to find the body. If you venture out into the wilderness you better be able to take care of your self. You accept that or walk the mall instead. 🤔 today maybe that’s not so safe either.

That's very interesting. I think i still take a chance and camp there. They seem to be getting away with Murder 60 miles from me in Rochester NY on a daily basis with no loop polls. At least out in the wilderness when the grizzly comes at you you know whats on his mind.

I live in this area of Wyoming and hope you all stay away. Give me the wilderness over Florida any day as my chances of survival are much greater here. Don’t worry, the tourists are here in droves and good luck finding a campsite. Boy, I can’t wait for Fall camping.

Hi Cliff
Might be hard to believe but I can honestly say I believe I’ve spent more time walking the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness than all the malls I’ve ever visited. And I am very happy that’s the case. Now grocery stores and hardware stores are a different matter. You are right, enjoyment, comfort, self preservation are based of knowledge and preparation. Lombardi is reputed to have said “Luck is where preparation meets opportunity”. I’ve been pretty lucky my whole life. And yes I’m a prepper. Have a great week Cliff.

Have to say I much prefer the woods to the mall myself. As long as my knees hold up think I’ll keep it that way😎

So to ask the obvious question, what about the part of Yellowstone that overlaps the Montana border? If the Idaho portion is unique, what is the legislative difference in the Montana portion? The article would have been more complete showing journalistic integrity if that question had been addressed. Otherwise it is just sensationalistic click bait in my opinion.

I camp at Cove creek campground once in a while, in that section. There are very few people in that area. Idaho state law would still prevail.
