Keepin' it Clean - Ceramic coating

For those of you who have had your trailer waxed with a ceramic finish - what was the pricing like (ballpark) and where did you go to get it done?

It's pretty rural where I live but I do get to the Big City now and then. I hear great things about the protection and ease of washing after a ceramic was applied so I'd like to try it on my 19.

I've seen many folks take the time to do their own applications but due to personal limitations, that won't be happening for me. I'm really looking for input and price ranges from those who've had it done for them.

Actually, having my trailer ceramic coated was the worst thing I ever did. It did not clean easier and it got dull in the son. I am in the process of buffing the entire trailer to strip it. I am going back to Meguier’s Flagship Marine Wax. YMMV!

C&G - thank you for letting me know this!
Sun is pretty powerful here at 7500 feet.
I was hoping this coating would help protct, not make worse!

Protection

I'd suggest keeping your rig under cover, of some sort, to protect the exterior. Waxing can help a bit, but physical separation from old Mr. Sun is my suggestion.

I paid a mobile wash service $250 early last year for a spray-on ceramic coating. The sun is brutal here in Eastern WA too, but it seems to be holding up well. I cover it when it will be sitting for more than a month or two.

Maybe applying it over wax is not a good idea? My trailer is shiny bright white (well when I wash it). I’ll probably redo the ceramic coating next year.

A proper ceramic coating has to be preceded by a round of polishing compound to get down to clean gel coat. If your finish isn't perfect it might take two rounds of compounding, first to remove oxidation and surface imperfections and the second to polish the surface. All materials should be designed for gel coat and not automotive enamels
