Just double checking to be sure I'm understanding this correctly before we hit the road for Osoyoos. Regarding bringing food into Canada... I usually cook and freeze many of our camping meals but I believe, in reading the rules and regs, if the meals include meat, I cannot bring them into Canada.

Is that correct or am I being too cautious? TIA ;-)

I think the guiding point from those regs is this: “Travellers coming into Canada can carry food with them for their own personal use, provided the food is imported within the specified personal exemption limits of the Safe Food for Canadian Regulations“

You should be good if it’s food for your own consumption.

Jon Vermilye may have trouble getting blueberries and pastry ingredients across the border for blueberry pies for 200 trailers. ha ha. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun.

As many of the regular forum members know, I have extensive contacts throughout the United States and Canada. That said, my western Iowa contacts just reported a low flying Dodge aircraft or possibly a pickup truck with a topper passing exit 97 on interstate 80 in Iowa. It looked to be piloted by an old man with two good lookin’ ladies as navigators. Pennsylvania plates. It was going so fast they only got a momentary look at the run together sign on the tailgate. It said
ChilliwackandOsoyoooooosorbust. The topper had camping gear hanging out the windows.
Wonder who it could have been?

Pack a sweater and rain gear. Make sure propane tanks are full.

No kidding, this weather is nuts.

Our plan was to go fishing for a couple of weeks and then go to Osoyoos. A buddy left first. When he started sending photos back of snow covered campsites etc. we put it off for a week. Then a couple of days ago it was high winds stirring up dust clouds from the burned off areas from the forest fires last year. So much for plans. We leave for Osoyoos on Wednesday.

Covid cancelation for Nk’mip

We are very sad to cancel our reservations for the Escape Rally. Sally was just diagnosed with Covid yesterday and feels lousy. I canceled with both Escape and Nk’mip so if anyone close is looking for a spot we were in 206.
Bummer to dump a month long trip wandering up and back but so it goes. Y’all have fun for us.
Best, Catherine and Sally

Soooo sad to have to cancel

Sadly, we have to cancel our rally attendance. Our tow vehicle went into the shop over a week ago and we are still waiting for it to get out. These things take so long. I understand there's a rally wait list, so someone will be getting a call! Hoping to still leave home early next week though, as Alaska is calling, and we may be able to catch up with our itinerary, the one that has been planned for a year!! I know there are others attending rally, who are continuing to Alaska. Maybe we will still see you somewhere along the way. We have a 21C, with an RVing to Alaska 2022 decal on the back window.

We started hearing a suspicious noise a couple weeks ago. They think it's coming from transmission. So they are trying to find the source.

Sorry to hear that you can't make it.

Here I've been saying that my 2018, 2.7/10 spd. is the best tow vehicle that I've ever had. Sort of concerns me to hear of problems with your transmission. I love the 10 speed.

Me too- have it on my Expedition and Transit. There are few complaints and it has been out there for 4-5 years.
