I think that credit cards and their associated fees have become so common in todays's business
world that a place that does not handle credit cards is rare. Perhaps in Canada things maybe different, but in the states it is common place to use your credit cards to purchase items.

It IS very common and it costs the business money. American Express charges the most. That's why AMEX isn't accepted everywhere...

If I’m buying or paying for something I’m sure I I won’t return, I’m going to eat, or a service like camping, I’d just as soon pay cash. Many places in our area charge 2 or three per cent extra to use a credit card.

My local lumber yard is about 10 miles round trip. I can call them up, make an order and they will deliver it to my garage, no extra charge and send me a bill that I pay with a check or cash the next time I’m in town. Kind of old school. They don’t sell me junk lumber, I don’t use a card they have to pay to accept. This works great for me. They are all also on the volunteer fire department. I buy about $20 worth of raffle chances at the holidays for meat, I never win. They laugh and tell me they spent my money on pizza and beer. But their response time on rural fires is very good. We are friends.

Canadian merchants may now add a surcharge if you want to use credit.

We wish we could attend Alf's rally since we shall be in southern ON returning from the Maritimes in Sept. but have to be in Thunder Bay for a wedding the same weekend as the rally. We haven't been since 2015.

Surely you can just ask the happy couple to postpone their wedding by a week. I expect they would understand.

As the kids used to say “It’s on like Donkey Kong”.
For first timers there’s a lot to see and do. The Falls are good but so are some of the other local attractions. I think this will be our fifth or sixth time there. Alf is the consummate rally host. He has personal professional guidance from Mary Anne that makes this rally a good one. Ask around if you’re new and have questions. Canadians and honorary Canadians are friendly and mostly knowledgeable.

Hi: S&B... WELCOME. We have already stayed a week to visit with friends staying at The Riverside Motel& Campground.
Betty's will be open as usual Wed. thru Sunday but no Sunday Brunch. Food costs and staff shortages are a part of that. We hope all attendees have a good time regardless. The Stacey's will do our best to make your stay memorable!!! Alf

Hi: emers382... I vaguely remember that rally. The one in 2013 was more memorable. You saying Grace at the pot luck... and us losing a trailer. Oh well its all water over the falls now Eh? Alf
