We certainly enjoyed speaking with Steve and Linda during the sausage and biscuits breakfasts they hosted at the Mississippi River Rendezvous each year. Steve had expertise as an electrician and contributed in many ways on this forum. We will certainly miss his perspectives on matters camping and Escape! It was clear he really valued his family and we extend our condolences to them…

So sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He was a kind, and generous, soul. I first met him at a Mississippi River Rally when he fixed a problem I was having with our hot water switch. Last spring we shared some conversation at a Rally in Iowa. Sadly, our path's will not cross again. Our sincere condolences go out to his family.

So sorry to hear about Steve. He was a regular at the MS River Rendezvous and we enjoyed his biscuits and gravy. Prior to the 2019 rally, I passed Steve and Linda in SW Wisconsin as we were headed to the Dickeyville Grotto. We also hit the Potosi Brewery that Dave got a Tee shirt from.
Steve was a frequent contributor to this forum and a great resource for non-biased information. He will be missed.

Sad news for sure. Respected Steve’s electrical knowledge and willingness to help others. I’m sure the family has many fond memories to hold dear. Rest In Peace Steve.

Just read this thread. A couple of weeks ago I realized that Steve hadn't posted on the Escape Forum since last December, but was still posting on the Fiberglass Forum. I wonder why?
Steve added to my electrical knowledge and was always helping others with theirs. Every group needs a Steve. I was surprised how open he was to new ideas and appreciated that desire to continue his understanding.
Condolences to Linda and their family.
RIP
Perry

We buy our staples there and it’s a nice drive in the country. $94 later we got back home and pulled the mail from the box. A heavy padded envelope was there and as a I turned it over I saw that it was from a fellow Escapee. It felt like a T shirt. I opened it and it was a tee shirt from the Potosi Brewery in S.W. Wisconsin It was from Steve Dunham, frequent poster and Escape 21 owner. There was a card included. It was in his wife Linda’s handwriting. I read the card. That’s when I learned Steve had passed on June 13, 2021 of a massive stroke. To put it mildly, I was shocked. I communicated with him often and his last note was about his Iowa vacation of two weeks in mid May. He had stayed on my recommendation in a southern Iowa park called Lacey-Keosauqua. He had visited the Amish grocery store at Cantril where he wondered with humor if he’d have enough money to cover his purchases. He enjoyed himself. For those of you who did not know, Steve Dunham was his screen name and his given name was Steve Steingruebl. Steve’s wife Linda of 50 years wrote that it would be helpful to her if I’d announce his passing on the forum. PM me if you’d like to send Linda a card and I’ll get her address for you. I could write much more but that’s enough. I feel bad because I came to know Steve and Linda and that era has ended. I like being right and I hate being right and my signature became real again yesterday. Rest In Peace, Steve.

Steve liked a good cigar and he forgot this one on my picnic table seat at Pikes Peak State Park two years ago. I guess it was like a calling card.

Dave, Oh my God, I'm shell shocked. Steve was such a wonderful person and for some reason we really immediately hit it off. I will always remember us all under our easy up canopy in the rain enjoying his famous sausage gravy. I met him several times and we seemed to always have spots across from each other. His tales of past work, his camping stories, the building of his house etc. will alway be with me. I am simply stunned. Thanks for the info.
