Escape 23 News, July 2023
Just got the latest email from Escape and one item states:
We thank everyone who has had a walk through our E23 twin prototype model either at the rally in Osoyoos or here in Chilliwack, BC and are grateful for the feedback you provided! We've incorporated as much as we can and are excited to announce that we are ready to launch the exclusive, well appointed E23 First Edition and anticipate deliveries to begin this fall! We will use the E23 waitlist to keep you informed of how you can get one of these incredible trailers in your driveway!
We also took this beauty out on a photoshoot and hope to surprise you with more pictures, floorplans, specifications and the process to get one very soon! It's too late for us, but I like the idea there will be more floorplans. Our record for owning a camper is 5 years (our 2000 Scamp 16), so perhaps in five years or so?
Enjoy,
Perry

I think that it should be named E23 Karl Edition
I guess they got so much positive feedback that despite the leadership uncertainty at ETI they're going ahead with it.

After touring the Bigfoot factory and seeing the process and the strength of the shell, the 23 would have to cheaper by a lot for us to have been interested. I expect the price to be high.

While we were sitting in the 23 at the rally, Karl mentioned that the 23 as equipped for the rally would be about $60,000 US.
I am guessing that was low balling the actual price.

I suspect the E23 will fit in a niche between Bigfoot's fine offerings in terms of Length, Width, and Weight. That may be a 'sweet spot' for some buyers willing to pay for that built-for-them ( ) trailer.
IMO it'll be great to have more options in the market, I suspect (hope) there's room and a place for all!

My first thought was, the Karl Edition was the prototype, the trailer that he couldn't get into production. Molasses in cold Canada flows faster than the 23 project did. Now he's gone, and whoever's (temporarily?) running the show is gittin'-r-done. This seems to be the Post-Karl Edition.

At more than $60k I doubt they’d have any buyers, that’s getting into high end brand territory, which Escape is not. I’ve lost interest in it, for not terribly much more I can get a Bigfoot (or an Oliver which isn’t my thing) which is longer, four season and better all around.
The allure of Escape is first, the customization and second, the relatively affordable price for an egg. They’ve been taking away that latter benefit, making may of us look elsewhere.

Saw a post the other day on another form. Oliver is now pushing 100k so I'm thinking Escape 23 will be higher then 60k but no where near 100k. I'm happy with my 21C so I'm just looking from the peanut gallery.

Prices are rising on everything lately. Tomorrow I'm increasing the charge for my comments, from 'free' to 'gratis.' Worth every bit of it, too.

You should keep track of your "gratis" comments. Then you can write them off as charitable donations on your taxes at the end of the year.

I seem to have fallen off their email news list. I was on the E23 Wait List, too, but haven't got any updates.

MrLynn you may very well be on their list still. Since Karl they have not been very big on communications.
I've found this to be true even before Karl left. At least when Karl was there they had Q&As most months. Now nothing.
I just feel that if you're spending 10s of thousands of dollars with them, they should more interacting with you giving you heads up and status.
Customer has to institute communications first, otherwise you won't hear from them.
Just an observation......
Any comment ? What are your thoughts.
Cheers....... and Happy Trails to ya!

Oh my god that is hilarious. Not being facetious, but that is a ridiculous price, good luck with that. This is typical at economic turning points, Oliver is looking backwards and so are rising asking price, however looking forwards the Fed is going to keep going until a recession is triggered, for this exact reasons (ridiculous prices are ‘entrenched’ due to this backwards looking rent seeking). Meanwhile consumers are retrenching.
$100k for a Oliver, I hope nobody is foolish enough to take them up on that, it won’t last
