200 Amp Battery Fuse Replacement for Lithium?

So today I installed my Progressive Dynamics PD4655TV to replace the WFCO 8955 controller, as I'm switching to lithium. Then I started installing the 200 amp lithium battery. I hooked it up and everything came on. But then when I moved the battery around in order to figure out its final location for its mounts, I noticed that a spark flashed in the little window of the 200 amp fuse that the main positive cable is connected to. Still had power. I looked at the fuse closely and it looks like the solder joint is cracked but not blown - maybe from vibration? Anyway, I'm going to replace that fuse but it seems that I read somewhere that for a lithium setup that a different fuse should be used?

What fuse type does your battery manufacturer recommended? For example, Battleborn recommends a ANL fuse.

I am confused by your description - I am assuming you have a 200 A-hr battery. Something clearly shorted that caused the fuse to blow. Check all of the connections. 200 amps is a significant current and clearly could cause death.

Yes it's a 200 amp hour battery. I think the fuse was in that damaged state and was working because it is not totally blown. When attached and jiggled, the fuse sparks in the window. A magnifying glass shows a crack in the solder joint in the fuse but it;s not blown like you would typically see. My question is really just about whether a lithium battery installation required a different fuse.

Read this discussion by tdf-Texas. Basically you need a new Class T fuse holder and Class T fuse for proper safety with lithium batteries. Most lithium battery manufacturers specify Class T fuses.

Expect to spend about $50 per fuse holder, and another $25 per fuse. Blue Sea makes a nice fuse holder with a clear cover over it.
