I ran a separate circuit for my electric heater. To be honest I have mostly just used it at home when working on the trailer so far, as last year we never really used any heat in our trailer, and I kept it on the 1600W setting most of the time, unless I accidentally kicked one of the elements off,

One thing to consider for cool / cold weather camping is a good
set of thermal underwear . They are fairly light weight and do not restrict outdoor activities plus you can turn the trailer heat down to the 50's and save propane. Cabela's sell good thermal underwear , they are not cheap but they work . The silk underwear is extremely comfortable and warm.

Something like 36' rolls that would cover 2-3 beds? I'm not having much luck

Jim, is it possible the thread you are thinking of is over on FGRV and not here?

Maybe Enkadrain?
I looked at it but could not figure a way to use a large roll of it.

I found this, 3 sheets under the bed and dinette cushions and a 4th cut for the bed perimeter, about $50 total

The stuff I mentioned comes in a roll and is a plastic with a porous sheet and is used for drainage. But would do a few trailers
I saw it used on a building that one of the local schools uses as a demonstration of green sustainable living. It looked interesting but so far I have not found smaller amounts of it anywhere.
enkadrain 3811r comes in a 38 inch x 100 foot roll

I'd like airflow around the perimeter but wouldn't insulation under the mattress keep the cold air away and any resulting condensation from underneath? Perhaps this for airflow around the perimeter against the exterior walls https://www.lowes.com/pd/Dow-Sill-Se...t-L/1000172805

OKay, now that I have a choice of options, I need some advice. Option (1) insulate under the bed with insulating panels and install the vapor barrier around the sides to allow air and breathing or option (2) install the vapor barrier under and around the bed. I'm leaning towards option (1) as the (2) would still allow cold air to impact the bed but take care of any condensation issues but option (1) would eliminate cold air hitting the underside of the bed and limit my condensation issue to the perimeter where it meets the walls. Not sure which way to go?

Jim - how about both? Put down the rigid foamboard under the bed and then put the "hyperventilating" type material on top of that for the ventilation.

Bob: Based on your description I assume the Dometic digital thermostat shows the temp setting but not actual temperature? If so, I would recommend getting something like the Nacot. The advantage over the Acurite model is that in addition to sensors for the fridge and freezer you get indoor temperature as well. Testing one right now on a house fridge and it is working well.

The Dometic does show current temp.
I’ve thought about adding foam board under the bed, but wondered if it is really necessary since one does have an 8 inch mattress and under the bed is not directly exposed to the outside. I did run foam panels down the driver side framing to seal off the power cord and water pump compartments. Doesn't seem to be a big heat loss issue? One would lose some height underneath and my Baby Weber just fits, so that was one final reason for not doing so.

Wow, -38F tonight in Dickinson ND, almost as cold in International Falls. This winter so far has some teeth in it.
