On the road again soon

Back in early 2019 when we drove to Chilliwack to pick up our new trailer we had big plans. Covid put a temporary crimp in those plans but we were able to do a lot of traveling and camping last year. Then in March I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and for a while it didn't seem like there would be any more camping in my future. But now after six months of chemotherapy, although I am not cured, I am in better shape and we are getting ready to load up the trailer and in a week we will head out for a couple of months in Utah, Colorado and New Mexico.

We have always loved our Escape, but on this trip we will especially cherish it and all the wonderful places it allows us to visit and enjoy. Whether this is my last big trip remains to be seen, but for sure I will enjoy every minute of it.

Your Trip

Here’s hoping your trip is one of your best ever and that there are more in your future. Best of luck, don’t push things too hard and enjoy every minute. Remember we like photos but if you’re having too much fun and don’t have time to take them, we trust you that it’s still happening.

I hope to meet up with you one day, David. It has been close to 2 years since my last chemo session and we made the trek out to Chilliwack and back home in May of this year. I'm feeling strong now, so good days are still ahead of you......

I don't where or when it started, it's become a tradition, but when we first head off from the house, whether heading for the airport or towing the trailer one of us will sing " on the road again."

Bon voyage

A buddy once made a mixed CD of road songs when we were heading out to Big Bend. This song, Sheryl Crow, Kinky Friedman, old Willy, Lyle Lovett, et al. Now I've got to find that chunk of music.
