Suburban flush mount cooktop
We just picked up our Escape 21' on Monday and have had quite a few inquiries about our Suburban flush mount cooktop so thought I would post some info here for those interested. First of all, let me mention that Reace said "no" to our request for a SMEV flush mount cooktop when we visited ETI in August because of difficulty in installing. That was understandable (but disappointing). To make a long story short, we went to O'Connor RV Parts and Service just up the road from ETI and ordered the Surburban. Reace installed it and we love it. When I asked him if he would install any in the future he replied, yes, that several customers were already having them shipped to him. Yay!
Here's the info and a couple pix:
The cooktop is a Suburban SDN2. The part numbers at O'Connor RV are 07-0362 for the glass cover and 2937AST for the cooktop itself. Their number is 877 912-3909. Ask for Nicole. I would highly recommend getting the cooktop through them - no import or shipping hassles and they work closely with ETI to get it over there. They are just a mile apart on the frontage road. By the way, this cooktop does not have an igniter. If we would have had more time that would have been a nice option. Also a darker tinted glass top would have been nice. Pix might look familiar if you have read my husband's thread on "Convection Microwave Fits!".
Of course, for those of you working on your build sheet and wanting this option, check with ETI to verify that this will work with your trailer.

Since it's glass I wonder if you could apply some type of window tint to the top surface? Obviously would need to be careful not to scratch it.

Nice, I would have gone for that. What were the upcharges for the stove, cost and cost to install?

We incurred a charge for swapping the location of sink and cooktop, and another charge for the custom microwave cabinet. But there was not a charge on our build sheet for installation of the cooktop.

So other than the swap charge what was your cost to purchase.

They have to install a cooktop whether you provide it or not. You were paying for a second cooktop and they are keeping the one that they would have installed. Same thing happened with our table pedestals that we provided.

Looks great and very nice to have a flat counter top. I probably would have done it too but maybe next time.

A flush mount stove is a fantastic thing to have. In our 2009 19 we had a SMEV combo stove/sink flush mount unit. We found we used the lid closed on the stove a lot of the time, while prepping food and washing dishes. The lid on the sink really only got closed when travelling.
This looks like a great upgrade.

$368 US from O'Connor RV. That included tax. Perhaps could have gotten cheaper, I don't know. But we needed to have it in hand in a day.

This installation looks completely great! I believe someone already said that it won't work, but I've just got to ask: will this installation fit in a 17B? I've got one a'building soon!

Hi, Linda. Your trailer is beautiful! I love the look. Donna D. used the word elegance to describe it and I agree.

I can not find the flush mount Suburban stove, just the glass lid in my research, trying to figure if a retrofit can be made.

I'm having the same problem. The manual I found for the SDN2 that appears to show a sketch for an installation similar to the Atwood DV20 with the cook top above the counter. The good news is the dimensions shown are almost identical for both the Suburban and the Atwood. One would think that the opening would need to get a bit bigger to accommodate the pan that allows the stove to be mounted in the recessed fashion shown.

I think it is this one which has the two part #'s incl SDN2.

If the Atwood will drop in the suburban flush mount pan most of us could upgrade to this for $70 and a lil labor.

Elegant is the word. I want one! But will it drop in the same spot (right side) the factory install's located?
