Thanks Jeremy, I was thinking thin plywood (luan/door skin) under the mattress to allow the hypervent to do it's job.

Escape mattress doesn't compare to sticky's mattresses! Those other brands keep the mattress light to keep the trailer's weight down. I love our Escape mattress. My husband did want a topper and I'm not complaining.

I don't know what it is, but when we go out in the trailer, it never fails: I get the best sleep....ever!

We purchased a mattress from Wilderness RV for our previous camper and loved it so much we transferred it over to the 5.0 when we took deliver. The ETI mattress has been relegated to the guest bedroom in our house. We don't want company staying too long.

We have latex toppers on our mattresses at home but the full queen mattress that came with our 2015 5.0TA is so comfortable we've never contemplated the need for a topper on it.

How has your experience been? Did you put anything else over the carpet to allow the hypervent to stay clear of the carpet getting into the mesh?

Anyone else with hypervent and the 5.0 bed on carpet?

Thanks all,
We'll be picking up our new 5.0 soon too and I had the same question.

We'd been planning to install hypervent or a similar product under the mattress; that is until I saw our "build" photos and realized that there's carpet under the entire mattress. I'd imagine that hypervent, sandwiched between the shag carpet and mattress, wouldn't allow for much air flow, if any.

In reading some earlier threads on the subject, it sounds like other 5.0 owners were experiencing moisture where the front of the mattress meets the front wall of the trailer, but not many reports of moisture under the mattress.

We have some moisture in our 19. Our fix is to keep windows slightly open and Tammy said to keep shades about 1 inch above the window at night. We also keep pool noodles between the mattress and the back wall.

2021 E19.

We have Hypervent under the dinette cushions and Froli under mattress. We also have pipe wrap between the mattress and walls. We varnished all the raw plywood under the mattress and cushions.

You still need airflow when humidity is high.
