Where you staying? There's a great boondocking spot over at Slough Creek in Yellowstone just west of the Lamar Valley. Lamar Valley is good place for spotting wolves. Also, if you haven't done it, The Beartooth Highway between Silvergate and Red Lodge. Charles Kuralt described it as "The most scenic route in the United States". I would not take the trailer on the Beartooth. Good road but vey steep and curvy over toward Red Lodge. Over just north of Mount Washburn there is a valley on the east side of the road. Good grizzly country. I once watched a bull elk with a heard of cows in a standoff with a pair of bears that were trying to trap the cows in a stand of aspen on a finger ridge above that valley. I'll be headed up that way in June going to Chilliwack. Will just drive through probably or maybe pitch a tent depending how on schedule we are. Have fun and have a safe trip

Flagg Ranch. This was a spur of the moment (a few weeks ago) idea to go there. In 2017, after picking up my trailer in Chilliwack, we were going to go there. But, while staying in Oregon, my son (a active reservist) received a notice to report immediately. So I had to put him and his fiance on a plane home. I and my SIL did Yellowstone/Grand Tetons without them. He has two + weeks between school and drill weekend, so I said "let's go".

I keep forgetting the weather up there. I once had the road to the house blocked by drifts in May. Down here we're looking at the 90s this week. Keep an eye on the Beartooth. Also, if you have a spotting scope that area north of Washburn is good viewing area and the Lamar Valley was the spot where they first re-introduced the wolves. Around where you going to be there use to be spot near Moran Junction that was frequented by moose. Enough of my rambling. Finish your packing and have a great trip.
UPDATE!!! Bozeman paper said the Beartooth is suppose to be open "May 24". You'll travel through the Lamar Valley to get there. The Lamar Valley is my favorite spot in Yellowstone.

Cassiopeia
Followed “Cassiopeia” for a mile or so through Moses Lake, WA yesterday. At I-90 they turned east toward Colorado, we headed west toward home. Safe travels!

The 2nd was a 19 with Red markings and a white TV, this was also westbound around Frenchtown MT around 2 pm. Hello to whomever you are.

Hi Steven
We’re a few hundred miles ahead of you. Drove some state roads and some 1-90 and 1-29 through South Dakota today. Saw 5 fiberglass today. A 17 Bigfoot, two casitas, old one I did not recognize for sure. And a very shiny new looking “Lil Snoozy” it was white. I remarked that if it was as new as it looked must have been a late acquisition and that if so the owner should stop and buy a lottery ticket. Hope Montana is treating you well. We camped there a couple nights.

Arniesea, We saw you too! "Hey, that's an Escape behind us."
We were on our way to the Wallowa Mts near Joseph, OR. Stayed a couple of nights at the Park at the River campground thanks to a reference on this forum.
Wallowa area is stunningly beautiful and pretty remote. The alps of Oregon they say.
We were coming back from Osoyoos.

Yesterday I spotted a 17 with green graphics on hwy 97 heading into Weed, CA about noon. I was heading the other way and didn’t have my trailer. I thought maybe it was someone heading home from the rally.

What are the odds?
At a RV Park in West Yellowstone. It is attached to a hotel. Only about 16 spots. Meet our Escape's rich cousin.

I know which trailer is more attractive, less lumpy.

Saw a 19 traveling west bound on I40 at 12:45 today, just east of Albuquerque. Followed shortly by a Casita. Casitas are fairly common but an Escape is rare, first I've seen one on the road. Too bad my wife was at a GS ice cream event so my enthusiastic head turning was not shared.
The 19 had light grey stripes. Hope your visit in NM is a good one!
