I liked the old youtube videos with Kenny & Samuel -- this is not impressive or convincing to me in any way. Kinda makes Escapees look like dufuses.

You bet and I also bet that he never asked Rease to dress up in a bear costume for the early ETI videos that he did.

Therefor, not a great commercial either. Totally forgettable.

(Not that the Escape one was anything I'd suggest anyone watch either.)
Disagree. It was just enough to create an interest whereby someone would search for "Oliver" + trailer, without the ad beating them over the head.

And as we can see from that embarrassing & cringe-inducing Escape advertisement, there IS something worse than being forgettable.

Just look at all these comments, here and on Facebook, in such a short time! Cheesy, yes. Silly, ditto. Full of product detail/selling features - uh, nope. Memorable (for good or for bad) and a conversation/debate starter - heck yes! IMO, from a marketing perspective, job done. And done well.

I just keep thinking "First world problems that we can discuss our like or dislike or outright hatred for a commercial....that's only shown on YouTube" - nice to be able to do that!!

For the record, I laughed a lot at the whole thing - and I had needed a good laugh after a crappy day - I hope they have the bear costume at ETI for to take selfies with........

I thought that commercial was pretty corny. The actors didn't seem at all genuine with their acting or their lines. The bear was in the right place being in that commercial though. Not even close to believable in any aspect, and therefore pretty funny. I was mildly amused.

Escape is a better company than that. Their products, quality, customer service, and overall reputation would be well served by a followup ad a little more in line with who they are and the trailers they produce. I think this one was probably a lot of fun to make. The next one should be too but by being real, not laughable.

IMO "Memorable (for good or for bad)" is the goal of publicity; generating sales is the ultimate goal of advertising.

If ETI's goal was the former, yeah, they may have a hit; if ETI's goal was the latter .... maybe not so much.

Seems like the scary outdoors (aka: The Bear) is not so scary in a Carefree Escape.

Well that's too bad. I was hoping there wouldn't be any more of these embarrassing ads.

“Leakproof fiberglass shell”. Well, if there is no A/C, no vents, no clearance or brake lights, no backup camera and literally nothing cut, drilled and caulked, then I agree.

Caulk dries and often shrinks so, if it is not maintained, the clam of a leakproof fiberglass shell doesn’t really hold water, so to speak.

I started to pay closer attention to the commercials on Television after this thread started.

There are a lot of corny ones, Escape’s is pretty good actually!

'Da Bears

I'm a distant fan of the Chicago Bears football team, but I'm much more an admirer of commercials featuring monkey's, dogs, Clydesdale and other horses and
e-Trade babies. Geekos, not so much.
