Operation: Retrieve “Side Effect”

This morning at 8:00 AM we begin our adventure to retrieve “Side Effect” on Monday at Noon in Sumas.

We will be staying in Sioux Falls, Bozeman and Bellingham WA on the way up. On the return trip we will be in Lynden WA, Vantage WA, Baker City OR, Glenn’s Ferry ID, Salt Lake City UT and Rawlins WY before heading to Cheyenne WY to see our grand daughter for Halloween.

From Cheyenne we’ll have 4 nights on our way back to St Louis.

Rain, Snow and Cold Temps! Please tell the weather gods to be gentle on us.

Yes, sort of, we live in a small rural subdivisions set far back off the main road with only four homes.

All of us decided to keep our street looking like a little country road.

The part of STL Willy B is in is in many ways different from the area I’m in, some good some bad. Much can depend on the county you’re in.
The right spot like Willy is in and you’re set.

Missouri has many lakes, lands that are nice rolling hills, rivers and ozarks-if it the winters weren’t so harsh…

A trip on hwy 79 from Louisiana Mo to Hannibal during this time of year the eagles are everywhere along there. 79 runs along side the river, Hannibal is setup for tourists and has a decent RV park.

Living in Idaho, we have traveled the routes you are traveling many times. A beautiful drive. This time of year, weather can be pretty sketchy on parts, but if one can be flexible and hunker down for a day or 2, no problem usually. So I suggest you just be flexible.

We pick up our 17B in Sumas in January and plan to be very flexible

Have fun, eat good food, don’t worry about the money too much. Nobody gets out alive and hearses don’t stop at banks to make a withdrawal. Hope your trip is all you hoped it would be, goes off without too many hitches, (auto correct just made that bitches) and you make the first or many Escape memories.

You live less than 300 miles from our country so 150 to 200 and you’re camping in some great country to the north and can enjoy some great Corps of Engineers camping in southern Illinois, down around Branson and all along the big creeks they call the Missouri, Ohio and Mississippi rivers.

Very interesting. Looks great! I don't see much different from our 2019. They have added another door for the under-bed storage, which will be handy. Wish they would put in gas struts for the under-mattress opening, though. Have you told us how you came up with "Side Effect"? Not like the ones in the drug ads on TV, I assume.

When I was told I had to do chemo they described all of these horrible side effects and I thought........ Hmmm, retirement is a Side Effect of hard work and a hangover is a Side Effect of having too much fun so........ Side Effects are really just a matter of how you look at things.

Kind of silly but it was the first thing that ran through my head when they were telling the details of chemo.

I'm all good now and Feb will be 2 years clean.

Ah, and getting an Escape 21C is a side effect of beating the big C! Cool!

Very nice! Great option choices. I love that Escape now provides a Victron battery monitor. That is great to have as the voltage-based battery level on the standard monitor is pretty useless especially with lithium.

Great video. Is that an optional extra now or is it included? Great perk for new owners to have and be able to show friends.

Pretty much the same options etc. as us and we have no regrets. Like the new style bathroom window. Hate our little awning window that hits the awning arm.

The diagonal at the end of the bed is a great location for a built-heater. And of course installing a 4 sliding crate mod under the bed is what I consider the most useful mod of all.

Safe travels,

Ron

12 Hours to Bozeman today. Started great with the opportunity to see the Dignity statue in Chamberlain, SD at sunrise. Then an Escape sighting just East of Billings, MT. But it ended with a cold rain in Bozeman with snow overnight.

Plus a special shout out to Wyoming for the UFO that crashed into my windshield.
