Platinum Guard warranty
Hello. I notice that Escape offers what they call their "Platinum Guard" extended warranty. It's good for 7 years and appears to be fairly comprehensive. Especially appealing is that it allows for "on site" repairs. Has anyone in the forums tried this? It looks like a good purchase for the peace of mind it could offer, but on the other hand it's quite expensive...almost 3k at $2,749 (an oddly specific sum).
Debating whether or not it would be worth purchasing. I would want to see the actual agreement in writing first of course. Also interested if its transferable, if it is that would be a real boon for resale value.

Extended warranty
I wish my parents had bought an extended warranty on me, at my birth, 74 years ago.
But alas, they didn't.
Unless you're prone to many mishaps, common advice (Consumer Reports) is not to buy extended warranties. The advice is to budget and set aside that warranty cost, put it in the bank and use it if you ever have to.
My E19 is 8 years old and hasn't needed any repairs, other than tires, batteries and typical age-out maintenance items.
Some folks are content to buy peace of mind and serenity. Any warranty is dependent on the company issuing it, their service and if they'll be around in X number of years.
It's all a crap shoot, but I'd rather bet on myself dealing with any issue than some outfit.
YMMV

Well, did a little more digging on my own and it appears that this warranty probably isn't from ETI directly, but rather is more likely a product they are reselling (especially since it's also offered in the same section that sells hats and other Escape related merchandise). It looks to be akin to:
https://agws.com/extended-warranty-s...rv/rv-towable/
That makes such a warranty much less attractive...more on a par with an extended car warranty.

Good thing that I never spent that kind of money on an extended warranty. They'd really be ahead of the game with me.
Stove issue: paid for by Dometic
Axle issue: paid for by Dexter
One faucet replaced, so I'd be down a whole bunch of money for not much.

I would add that if ETI is offering this warranty and the current ownership sells, there is a possibility that the new ownership may not honor any warranty. They may refuse to purchase if they must honor in place agreements and any owner “wanting out” might not include terms to honor these warranties in the sales contract. We must remember these are venture capital companies who are in it for profit. As long as the current ownership continues, I doubt failure to honor would be a problem. I would note that the only thing that has failed on my 8 year old (2015) 5.0TA was a seven year old European made Dometic (POS) refrigerator that Dometic of America would tell you that they did not recognize part numbers, and the actuating mechanism that lifts the hood on the MaxxFan. I’m just one of the billions of RV owners who have had that pot metal monstrosity crumble for no reason.

The only failures we've had on our 2015 5.0TA was the yellowing and brittleness of the escape hatch cover and range vent, which I replaced myself for about $200. I doubt those would be warranty items. Tires and batteries, same.
Generally I avoid extended warranties although I did collect on an external hard drive extended warranty one time.

My trailer has been nothing but a solid investment. Back when Reese owned Escape Inc his good word was an iron-clad warranty and you could bet your dupa it was all you needed. Never had to call him on it. That was then. But now, paying any corporation for a warranty protection these days I think is bad insurance - money thrown down a well.
