Pat,
I've had them on for over a year now and they are an excellent solution.
Glad they're working out for you

Sounds like most of the thefts have occurred either when parked or in storage. Just curious if anyone has had issues when actually out camping. (I live in the middle of nowhere behind a locked gate, so I feel pretty safe here.)

Yes, I have the twin 6v on the tongue on the 19. They have a 6v discount for two of them so I have one lock on each box with keyed alike locks.

In all my years of camping, never had anything taken - I usually lock my bike and yeti cooler, but batteries, Propane tanks, grill, chairs, etc all OK (knock on wood).
Once, a friend I was camping with found her propane tanks had been partially unhooked - something must have scared the guys off, so luckily, she still had her tanks.

Wish I could say the same Anne, but on our first trip with our Escape we had our dog food, dog bowls and dog brush swiped from under our trailer, right next to the front door. Gouldings campground, Monument Valley UT.
My disgust for thieves knows no bounds, even after interacting with and arresting dozens of them when I was a cop.

That happened to us one time, turned out to be a raccoon was the culprit, found the bowls about 20 yards away, food and brush were gone.

Well these were in one of those reusable shopping bags, and they took the bag too. No coons in the monument Valley area, but if it was one, God bless him.

Years ago there were multiple calls to the Alaska state troopers about multiple thefts of car and camper keys at the Russian River campground.
People would put their keys on the picnic table while setting up, turned out the culprit was a raven who liked shiny things. Scott

The best, absolute BEST raccoon story has to come from John and Jan and last year's Fall NOG.. ! If you get an opportunity ask.. do!

Critters
Iowa has hundreds of thousands of raccoons. And just about that many raccoon theft stories. They can do some amazing things and frustrate the unsuspecting. And they don't get drunk in a bar and brag about their exploits and get caught. Why did the chicken cross the road?
To show the raccoon and the armadillo it could be done. Rimshot please.

Just what I was a-thinkin': Only stuff we're gonna keep in the front box is wood blocks, leveling blocks and maybe our stinky slinky.. Also may put a loud alarm on it which can be disarmed remotely.

my front box has bunches of plastic blocks, chocks, leveling wedges, a tub in the middle with an assortment of trailer tools (tire iron and (I need a new jack), crank wrench for the levelers, wrench for the water heater anode, hammers, modified nail (stake) puller), a bunch of heavy duty tent/awning spikes and some nylon guy line, extra 30A extension cord. my big ugly gloves for stinky duty. the slinky is in the back tube, the hoses are in the side storage compartment. my batteries are under the rear dinette bench.

Might I suggest you follow John’s lead. Sewer hose is best in its own dedicated tube underneath the trailer that Escape provides. Some have added a second tube for other long items.
