Congrats on your new rig.

Not divergent at all, Marv.

Escape was good with it, but I did arrange this with them well over a year ago. I have always had thoughts of adding my own touch, originally to my 19, then to the 5.0TA once I got it.

They may not be as receptive now, but you can always ask. I know I was told "no" on a few things, a couple of which were previously done.

Worst case scenario, is you just rebuild what you wish to do in your own time. I had considered getting everything stock other that the galley, and to just match existing cabinet doors, which are not too bad. I did decide that while I was at it, I would just come up with a door style a bit different. Still working on that.

In the end, I really did not save lots with eliminating things, it is more that I now have to do, rather than redo which much of it. I will actually spend more doing it myself. I still will be redoing some stuff anyway, like the cabinetry on the fridge wall.

I have a 6.5' bed, Kate. The main reason was for hauling volume, not for towing.

I think the fact that Jim's trailer was not imported into the US allowed Escape to not hook up the propane stove and heater which US customers have been told in the past that there can not be a unattached propane appliance. Thus the rules may well be different for Canadians vs US customers re: leaving things unfinished.

I suspect you are right on this. To install the simple 2 burner stove would not cost much though. My furnace was hooked up, they just left the grille off for me.

Jim I notice your curbside hatch is lower, unlike TinKnocker and Tammy's first pics of the new 5.0 TA, was there any extra charge for the change?

No charge for that. This is something Chris R clued me in to, as the space is otherwise real deep. I will be adding a shelf above it, and a door inside to access the space.

Thanks Jim, I figured that, think I would do the same if we go for one. Will let you know about 15-16, waiting to hear back from Beth's cousin.

WOW!!!

I am SO glad we picked up when we did, 10 days ago now. Driving the mountains was a breeze. Now I am getting heavy snowfall warnings from along the whole route, all the way back to Calgary.

I wonder if one could even get out of the Escape parking lot today.

Did you ever watch the TV comedy series "Earl" about the guy who had been a petty criminal all his life and woke up in the hospital with the sudden belief that he had to go back and fix all the bad karma he had created in his life?

"My Name is Earl" I watched that show a fair bit. A good one.

I'm 30 km west of Chilliwack and this was my truck in my driveway on Sunday morning. We've since had another 25cm of snow and it's still snowing.

That sure is a lot of snow, way more than the 30cm or so we got here. Definitely a lot for the Fraser Valley. Heck, just the snow I saw there in December was more than normal.

At least Reace does not have to go far to go sledding.

I just hope someone got INTO the parking lots to sweep all that heavy wet snow off my trailer and any other new ones that might have been outside... methinks that's a lot of heavy, wet snow...and a lot of weight...

I'm booked to pick up March 9. Sent an email to the manager of Moonshadows RV Resort at Merritt to make sure they were open and to check on availability. He said availability shouldn't - he just hoped the snow would be gone - said he'd never seen so much there this time of year!

It's not heavy wet snow we are getting as daytime highs are around -2 and nightly lows around -6. Out in Chilliwack it's drifting so probably most of the snow is blowing off the trailers right now.
