We named our E23 today

Well, we decided to formally name our E23. And there’s a story behind it.

When we took it in to DMV for registration/taxes, the woman who inspected it asked me to hold one end of the tape measure. She was at the front and I was at the back. As she noted the length, she looked at the Escape 23 on the band and said, “Es-ca-pe”.

I said, “Well I guess some French Canadians might pronounce it that way.” She replied, “That’s how Dory in “Finding Nemo” pronounced it.

When I mentioned the exchange to Deb, she said, “I think we have a name for our trailer”.

She called ETI looking for the color code so we could get someone to cut a vinyl accent and the person we had worked with on the band design/color volunteered to draw up and order the accent piece for us.

The ETI folks are really in it to make the Escape’ owning experience a good one.

Good name.

If you want to be grammatically correct that accent mark is called Accent Aigu

So you feel this is a better name than “Gort” ?

Enjoy,

Perry

That’s a real nice looking Tailer for sure. In my enthusiasm and my poor sense of rhyming, we had a little kickoff at a rally a few years back that we called Escapes and Canapés. A fine bottle of Cognac completed the confusion of pronunciations but we had fun none the less.
Congrats on a great trailer, you’ll have a fine time with it I’m sure.

Yeah, Gort was too much like inside baseball. It was like you had to know who Michael Rennie was.

Just curious, what did California DMV determine the length to be for their purposes? Was that just body length, ball-to-bumper, or .... ?

She went from coupler to rear bumper, leaving off the spare tire.

So my wife discovered when she researched the best way to recreate Dory’s statement.😁
