Rank
Speaking of rank, I get a little rank on these hot days. My bride calls me General. General flunky that is.
And I start each sentence with Captain May I? Too corny? I thought so.

Homemade Box on 2019 17B
The photos here show a custom-designed and built box for our 2019 17B. These are posted by request, perhaps because I'd made a parenthetical boast that I thought this box looked better than the standard Escape offering... but I've seen other, MUCH better looking boxes here on the forum.
This one has a few thousand miles on it now, is holding up well. It's marine plywood with a layer or two of fiberglass set in epoxy. I painted it with Krylon Dove White because I read somewhere here that this should match the trailer. Hmm, not that Dove White, not our 2019 trailer. If anybody knows of a paint that will match, I'd really appreciate their posting a reply with the brand and name of the paint.

Not Dove, but Dover white matches my 2009.

Nice box. I think the newer trailers are a brighter white versus the classic molds. My bet is that Krylon satin or semi-gloss White would match much closer.

After going out for our maiden voyage a short while ago, we recognized that ETI's mattress, though not uncomfortable, is far less resilient with plywood directly underneath.
With the desire to mitigate mold forming, air flow under the mattress was also a desire.
I cannot recall who or where it was posted, but a forum member recommended IKEA's Lonset - a slatted under mattress bed base.
Finally getting "LONSET" home for our queen size bed in our 21NE, I quickly noted the "rounded corners" on the outside/wall side of the platform. THIS was not going to be a straight forward assembly and install.
Measured thrice, cut once (frame and slats) to accommodate the rounded corners, the unit fit exceptionally well (I amazed myself) and with the straight forward assembly of the second part of the "queen" - fit exactly to the millimetre.
The only failing is it limits access through the beds trap door platform...so I installed zip tied crates to travel on aluminium rails with access through the cabinet door. Thanks EGGSCAPE.
Here's a photo of the first half of the modification and after mattress installed (Gad...it's like wrestling a bear)

I am considering making something like this to store our 4 - 40 watt solar panels under the mattress.

A couple of weeks ago I replaced two of the restraining cables that Escape had installed on the solar panel of my 2013 19'. Both of the cables had "snapped" at about the mid-point of the cable.

I started waxing the Escape Pod 2,
Meguiar's Pure Marine Wax #56 is on sale at Napa Canadian Locations. $20 a bottle, Amazon is around $40.

Made up a couple of boxes for under the bed of the 19. Made to be removable so we can pack them inside and take them out to the trailer.

Made up some dividers for under the sink. Perfect so the taller items don’t spill.

Bryan, I'm curious about the 4 40 watt panels. why not a couple of 100s?
Whoa, Doug, that is some fine looking (and functional) work.

5/8” Plywood, good on both sides, not sure which tree. The aluminum is 12GA sheared to size at the local steel shop.

Great idea! I haven't seen anyone else do something like that. I like it.

Washed the bugs off the 19' from last weeks trip to Banff. Then I winterized it. May put the cover on it tomorrow.

Hi Alf
We did not put a rinse on the 21 this past week as it was in the building but we did have ample opportunity with several days of rain to total 6 inches here for the week. First droughty,
then a windstorm and this week a mini monsoon. Glad to know we all live in a world with a predictable, enjoyable climate. Missing the annual trip to the Falls. Be Safe
