Mine were Rainier also. Bad bearing adjustment from new made them short lived. I pulled the wheels and did bearings. So far the GY Endurance are running well.

I've had a variety of tires on my escape 21 in the 8 years. We've owned it. It came with the original carlisles( it's a 2014 so it was 2 years old when we got it ). I use the tires that my local big tire supply store recommended said there were the ones that all the local contractors use, no name Chinese tires, they were okay. They lasted. They worked. Prepping for this Mexico trip that I'm on right now where we are spending four months exploring all of Mexico, I opted for the Goodyear endurance and just visually inspecting the tires. They are far sturdier and heftier and and just generally more rugged looking. Put about 5,000 mi on Mexican roads so far, no tire problems whatsoever. The potholes and topes(speed bumps) down here are vicious.

I replaced my Carlisle with Goodyear endurance, both on my Casita, and on my 21C.
When my Goodyear endurance get to a certain age
(5 years), I will replace them with more Goodyear endurance.

Go camping so much you wear them out before they age out. It’s only gasoline, and fees, and toll, and and and.

It's decision time for me. New axles will be installed next week.
FWIW, the Carlisles on the drivers side look great even with 10K miles, but I will be replacing all four.

To be honest, my goal in life is to wear all of this stuff out before I die of old age. All of it.

My problem is I'm wearing out my tools and toys at 65-70 and have to buy new stuff which I will never wear out in the next 20-30 years.
Luckily the Escape is still holding up well.

So far, I've been able to do that on 6 sets of tires, 3 sets on a 17 (Original + Maxxis + Goodyear Endurance). 86,726.2 miles before I sold it & traded up to a 2017 21.
I'm working on the 3rd set on the 21. Both the 2nd & 3rd sets of tires on the 21 were/are Goodyear Endurance. 52,213.3 miles on the 21 and I'm not quite home yet...

Hello Jon
You are the undisputed Road King, that I know. Also a great photographer and generous friend.
Keep those travelogues coming and keep racking up the miles.

I am envious but then not really. We probably won't do as much camping this year as we planned. When we lived in NM, we were in a newer home with zero improvement projects needed. Then we relocated to Idaho. We closed on a fixer-upper yesterday with plenty of projects and a 20'X30' workshop with a 12' rollup door. If I'm not on the road with Linda, Sage and the Escape in tow, my next happy place is in a shop tinkering and building stuff.
