Wow Jim,

It is absolutely gorgeous! We think you just doubled it's value! Sorry we missed Osoyoos this year but look forward to seeing you and Lisa at a get together sometime soon.

PS We're in on that rally. I'll bring a rhubarb pie, Dave sez he'll bring the bourbon!

Love rhubarb pie and bourbon, just gotta get those bourbon drinkers to expand their taste buds to some fine Scotch, especially the nice peaty stuff.

Holy Moly Jim. Patricia looked over your trailer at the Osoyoos Rally while I was playing golf and said that you had done a really nice job. That's an understatement, its absolutely fantastic. I did come by on the Sunday, but you were off elsewhere and didn't get a chance to see the mods, so thanks for the photo tour.

Nice job though on the drinks cabinet, I see the selection of your various whiskies. And although I agree on your general comments on fine Scotches and the bourbon drinkers (although Arniesea had a couple of nice ones, and your Japanese whiskey was good), my taste buds don't handle Laphroaig too well.

Chris.

Hi: Jim Bennett... It just takes some folks extra time to get to the good Escapes. I just found a recipe for "Gin" rhubarb pie. Some gin goes in the pastry, some in the filling, and I bet some in the baker too !!! Alf

I concur on the scotch. I noticed your bar set up had two of my favorites, Lagavulin and Laphroaig

Where's the pop up TV?

I really like this idea as it would be nice to have an outlet more along the countertop than on the front of it.

Stunning work!

Chris.
We did sample sour bourbon, Scotch, Irish and Japanese whiskeys the one night. Quite a nice selection. I like sampling all kinds of Scotch, Highland, Speyside, etc, but always enjoy a nice peaty one from Isla, kinda like knowing I have made it home. Another thing I like about the peaty ones is you drink less, heck I could just sit and enjoy the wonderful aroma wafting from the glass without ever taking a sip, and when I do a small sip sits nicely on the palette for a lot longer than the milder whiskeys, resulting in less sips.

All that whiskey talk is getting me thirsty. Never met a scotch I didn't like. I missed the opportunity at Osoyoos. Just got distracted with other great company and good conversations. Makes for a good reason to return, however.

It is TV ready, but no pop-up. Nowhere to put one either, but a good thought for stowing.

The electrical pull up is quite nice, but we have yet to use it, having not be connected other than the Escape Rally, which saw very little cooking from us.

Enjoyed touring your trailer at Osoyoos, and seeing these photos just really made it sink in that much more. What a great job! Certainly an inspiration for me to take a closer look at how space is used (or not) in our 19. And I'll echo the praises of your scotch choices, I enjoy Laphroaig from time to time myself.

While that sounds really appealing, and I am really enjoying these mods, you might find the final cost too high. I have added about $8k CAD in material costs, and am not quite done yet. This does not factor in my labour and planning time.

Besides, I now need to find time to enjoy the fruits of my labours.

Though, I just went and bought my neighbours house for a project home the other day. Something I hope to make some money on to afford a better retirement. This could be a multi-year project though. Now, I must bust butt to get my existing home of 23 years on the market so I can afford this major renovation. Oh, and then I need to remodel the house I bought a while ago that I intend to retire in. "No rest for the wicked"

Not too much hunting Alf, when the house is right next door. It will be strange living next door to our old house.

I did something similar. Bought the house behind me on foreclosure in 2012. It is currently a rental, but because it is all one level, I intend to remodel it for retirement once I have tenant turnover. Then if (when ) either of us get too feeble to deal with the stairs, we will just switch homes and downsize.

Good luck on your project! With your nice 5.0 TA, you'll have a place to stay during construction!
