Closet Shelves
This is my closet shelf project. I used tiger maple for trim. For the shelves I used 1/2" plywood. For the supports and everything else I used cheapo white pine. The frames were made using a Festool domino joiner. I use a Kreg shelf pin jig and 5mm shelf pins. Instead of trying to figure out where the shelves *should* be, I just drilled holes all the way up. The shelves are @16" deep. I didn't consider that the shelves might take a deep six off the back end of the closet space. Planning is never been one of my strong suits. I added 2 stops in the back. The front of the shelves fit inside of the stiles. I got that part right. Total weight of all material came to 34#

That looks very nice. The wife and I were just discussing our wardrobe on our new 21C. We are working on the build sheet and I told her we should just order blank and let me come up with a shelf system. Thanks for the ideas! Were your wardrobe walls reinforced or were you able to attach at the cabinet frame?
Thanks, Jimmy

I struggle with figuring this stuff out or simply want to get to the fun part of building this quicker and don't want to do the math. Your adjustable shelf system is fantastic.
Really nice design and result. Thanks for sharing the tools you used and the nice pics!

Here are some of the same images with measurements included. Also a Pic of the underside of the shelf. The 1/2" plywood is reinforced around the perimeter with some scrap material. Then glued and attached with a pneumatic staple gun. I knew that making the frames would involve and extra step or too. But then I wouldn't have to fiddle around lining up 4 separate strips if I had done it that way.

These walls have RV type studs. Maybe they are 1.5"x 3"? Somebody here probably knows. Take a look at the first Pic. Those two pinkish marks indicate the approximate center of the studs. Same goes for the right side.

I took the easy route - adjustable height shelf brackets, then added drawers.........
