E19 shore power location

Forum,

Simple question. Why is the shore power on the E19 located at the driver side rear? Since the power center (WFCO) is located on the driver side front under the dinette, would it not make sense to have the exterior cord access there? I understand that some have relocated their shore power cord to that location. Pros/cons?

Because that is the best location for the "standard" location of power pedestals in most campgrounds. I highlight "standard" because, while most have the pedestal at the back, right location, they could be anywhere, particularly in places that call themselves resorts.

Or at The Pinery a beautiful Canadian Provincial Park where the the power pedestal may be 50 feet or so off the back of your camper in a nice pure stand of poison ivy. In that case, your popularity if you are not allergic to poison ivy rises directly proportionally to your willingness to hook up other campers. Copper wire prices are very high so drop cords become the camping accessory du Jour.

In Ontario Provincial Parks, the power is usually available some 50 meters off in the woods in any random direction.
