You might like this video too. They don't divulge brands in the video but you can rest assured the Houghton is the quietest and most efficient one.

Actually in this video they use an iphone sound meter app to try to replicate testing by James at FitRV. It's clear how much quieter the Houghton is:

I've used silicone a lot over the years. There are better sealants now for specific situations but I wouldn't worry about ETI following the manufacturer's recommendations.

I've removed beads of old silicone. I slice it off then use Tumbler with a scrubbie and it leaves the surface clean and free of silicone.

Thanks again. These are nicely constructed tests. In the second video at 2:20, I noted that the A/C unit has the external fan located on the passenger side, rear of the unit. That appears to be the Houghton 13.5 kBTU unit.

It appears that most of this forum have installed the 9.5 kBTU unit which perhaps I would assume will have similar or lower noise profile.

Never heard of it? Sure could have use it in my years of renovating Bathrooms!
